The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the Assistant Teacher (Primary) Recruitment 2026 notification, popularly known as UP Super TET 2026, under Advertisement No. 05/2026. The recruitment is for 12,405 Assistant Teacher posts in Basic Education Department and aided primary schools across Uttar Pradesh.

UP Super TET Eligibility 2026

Candidates must hold the following educational qualifications:

• Graduation from a recognized university

• A teacher-training qualification: BTC, D.El.Ed, 2-year BTC (Urdu), Special BTC, an RCI-approved 2-year Diploma in Special Education, or a 4-year B.El.Ed

Candidates must also hold a valid UPTET or CTET Paper-I (Classes 1 to 5) certificate. This qualification is mandatory and cannot be substituted.

Age Limit

The age limit for urban Assistant Teacher posts is 21 to 40 years.

For associated/aided primary posts, the minimum age is 21 years, with superannuation at 62 years.

The Assistant Teacher (Primary) post comes under Pay Level 6.

Latest Updates on UP Super TET 2026

• This is the first fresh basic-education primary teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh since the 69,000-post drive of 2018-2020, and the first one conducted by the newly formed UPESSC rather than the earlier Basic Education Board.

• Candidate groups have pointed out that around 60,000 primary teacher posts are estimated to be vacant across the state, including roughly 48,000 in rural areas, and have demanded that rural vacancies be added to this recruitment as well. Only urban and aided posts have been notified so far.
