State Government Recruitment

Rajasthan CET

Rajasthan CET is a recruitment exam, relevant to candidates preparing for state government department recruitment.

Rajasthan CET Study Material

The Rajasthan CET 2026 is the Common Eligibility Test conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) for state government posts at two levels: Senior Secondary (Class 12) and Graduate. It is a screening test, not a final selection exam. A valid CET score lets you apply for the posts that use it, and each post then runs its own later stages.

This page brings the 2026 cycle together in one place: revised exam dates, eligibility, fee, pattern, syllabus, selection process and a practical preparation plan. Both levels are covered because their rules differ. Several older pages still show the 2024 rules, so read the section on what has changed before you plan your preparation.

What Has Changed in the 2026 Cycle

  • Negative marking at both levels: One-third of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for every wrong answer. The previous Senior Secondary cycle had no negative marking.

  • Shorter Senior Secondary paper: It now has 120 questions for 240 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes.

  • Longer score validity: The score is valid for 3 years from the result date, not 1 year as older pages state.

  • Revised exam dates: Both exams moved later than the schedule first announced in June 2026.

  • Syllabus additions: Public health and civic duties now appear as separate areas.

Older pages may still show the earlier pattern, validity and age rules, so follow the official notification for the final word.

Rajasthan CET Eligibility

Educational Qualification

For the Senior Secondary Level you need a Class 12 pass from a recognised board. For the Graduate Level you need a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. A particular post can ask for more, so match your qualification to the post as well as to the CET level.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The umbrella age limit is 18 to 40 years, counted as on 1 January 2027. Some posts set a higher minimum age, so check the post you want before you plan.

Each question carries 2 marks. The OMR sheet has five options, A to E. If you do not want to attempt a question, darken option E. Leaving a question with no circle darkened can attract the same penalty as a wrong answer.

What This Means for You

  • Time per question: You get about 75 seconds per question at Senior Secondary level and about 72 seconds at Graduate level.

  • Cost of a wrong answer: A wrong answer costs about 0.67 mark on a 2-mark question. A pure guess among four options only breaks even, so guess only after eliminating at least one option.

  • Use option E: Skipping a question you cannot solve is cheaper than a wrong attempt.

Selection Process and Score Validity

  1. CET: You appear in the written test for your level. Reports of the notification mention a minimum qualifying score of 40 percent, with relaxation for SC and ST candidates. Confirm the exact figure in the notification.

  2. Score card: A valid score stays usable for 3 years from the result date, and your best valid score is considered for each eligible recruitment.

  3. Post-specific recruitment: Each post then follows its own process, such as a main exam, skill test or physical tests.

  4. Document verification and merit: Final selection follows verification of documents and the merit rules of that recruitment.

Clearing the CET does not guarantee appointment. It makes you eligible to compete for posts.

Pay and Career Growth

Pay depends on the post and on the pay level notified for it, and the CET notification does not set a single figure. Check the recruitment advertisement of the post you are targeting before you compare careers.

How to Prepare for Rajasthan CET 2026

Senior Secondary Level

One reported subject split gives Rajasthan general knowledge and administration about 50 of the 120 questions, so Rajasthan topics deserve the largest share of your time. Build your base in Rajasthan history, art and culture, geography and polity first. Then add everyday science, reasoning and mathematics, and short daily practice in Hindi and English.

Graduate Level

The paper is broader and also includes Indian history, Indian economy and science and technology. Study India and Rajasthan together for each subject, for example the Constitution alongside the Rajasthan administrative system. Reasoning and mathematics reward steady practice, so keep a daily slot for them.

A Simple Timeline

  • Senior Secondary (about two months left): Finish Rajasthan topics in the first month, then spend the second month on tests and revision.

  • Graduate (about three and a half months left): Cover the syllabus in the first two months, then move to topic tests, sectional tests and full-length mocks.

Practise With Mock Tests

Because of negative marking, accuracy matters as much as speed. Take timed tests in the exact pattern of your level, and review every wrong answer and every skipped question the same day. You can attempt Rajasthan CET online tests on Testkart and use the section-wise analysis to decide what to revise. Pair them with previous year papers to understand the real difficulty level.

Rajasthan CET Cut-Off

There is no cut-off for the 2026 cycle yet because the exams have not been held. Treat any figure you see before the result as an estimate. Cut-offs change with difficulty, the number of applicants and the vacancies of each recruitment, so aim for a clear margin above the qualifying score rather than a bare pass.

Rajasthan CET 2026 rewards candidates who know the pattern, prepare Rajasthan topics well and practise under timed conditions. Confirm the revised dates on the official site, then use the pattern and syllabus pages to plan your weeks. Start your timed practice with Testkart tests and build your accuracy before exam day.
