Before we begin, to create and sell anything on Testkart, a user must have an active teacher account. Ensure you signed up as a teacher and not a student.

A step-by-step guide for teachers

What you will learn in this guide. This guide walks you through the complete journey of building a course on TestKart: opening the Courses section, building your curriculum with sections and lessons, filling in the course details (title, pricing, thumbnail), and publishing the course so students can enrol and start learning.

Everything is done from the TestKart Teacher’s App at testkart.in/teacher. No technical skills are needed — if you can fill a form, you can publish a course.

Getting Started

A. Open the Courses section

Log in to the TestKart Teacher’s App. In the left sidebar, under Application, click Courses. The My Courses page opens with four tabs — All, Draft, Published and Archived — plus a search bar to find any course by title.

B. Click “Create New Course”

Click the orange + Create New Course button in the top-right corner (or Create Your First Course if the page is empty). This opens a three-step wizard: Curriculum, Basic Info, and Review & Publish.

The My Courses page. The + Create New Course button sits at the top right.

Step 1 — Curriculum

A. Add a section

A course is organised into sections, and each section holds lessons. On the Course Curriculum step, click + Add Section. Enter a Section Title (for example, “Introduction to GTM”) and an optional Section Description, then click Create Section.

B. Add a lesson

Inside your new section, click + Add Lesson. Give the lesson a Lesson Title and an optional Lesson Description summarising what it covers.

C. Choose the content type

Every lesson has one Content Type. Pick the format that fits your material:

1. Video

Upload a video file or paste a YouTube URL.

2. PDF

Attach notes, worksheets or reference material.

3. Quiz

Add practice questions students answer inside the lesson.

4. Text

Write the lesson content directly as formatted text.

D. Upload the video and finish the lesson

For a video lesson, upload the file under Video Content (or switch to the YouTube URL tab). Set the Video Duration in minutes, and tick Allow Free Preview if you want students to watch this lesson without enrolling — a great way to showcase your teaching. Click Create Lesson.

E. Review your curriculum

Your section now lists its lessons, each showing its content type and preview status. Repeat the steps to add more sections and lessons — you can drag to reorder, edit or delete them anytime. When the curriculum is ready, click Next.

Step 2 — Basic Info

A. Fill in the course details

Enter a clear Course Title and a rich Course Description — the editor supports headings, bold, lists, links, images and video. Then choose a Category, a Difficulty Level (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced), an optional Language, and set the Price (INR) — enter 0 to make the course free for all students.

The Basic Info step: title, formatted description, category, difficulty and price.

B. Add a thumbnail and intro video

Upload a Course Thumbnail Image (recommended size 1200×675 px, 16:9, max 1 MB) — it appears on course cards and the course detail page. Adjust it in the Crop Image window and click Crop & Save.

You can also upload a Course Introduction Video — a short promotional clip shown on the course card. When the form is complete, click Next.

Step 3 — Review & Publish

A. Check the summary and validation

The Review & Submit Your Course page shows your Course Summary (title, category, description) and runs Validation Checks — the course needs at least one section and one lesson before it can be submitted.

B. Submit for review or save as draft

Click Submit for Review to publish, or Save as Draft to keep working on it later. Use Previous to go back and fix anything.

After Publishing

A. Manage your published course

Once live, the wizard becomes the Manage Your Published Course page. It confirms the course is published and live for students, and offers three actions: Back to Courses, View Published Course, and Unpublish Course. Unpublishing moves the course back to draft — existing enrolments remain, but new students cannot enrol until you publish again.

B. Find it in the Published tab

Back on My Courses, your course appears under the Published tab with its thumbnail, lesson and section counts, views and price. Click Edit anytime to update it.

C. What students see

On the student site, the course page shows your curriculum with free-preview lessons, the description, your profile, the price and an Add to Cart button — students can enrol, access the course on mobile and desktop, and track their learning progress.
