Cloud Computing: Architecture, Virtualization, File Systems, and Service Management
Covers cloud storage architecture, VDC & virtualization types, GFS, HDFS, federated cloud computing, SLA (types, phases, lifecycle), and cloud service lifecycle. Ideal for exam prep.
Description
This document covers Unit 3 of a Cloud Computing course. It spans six major topics: cloud storage system architecture, virtualized data center (VDC) architecture including server, storage, networking, desktop, and application virtualization, and cloud file systems such as Google File System (GFS) and Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). It also covers federated cloud computing architecture, Service Level Agreements (SLA) in depth — including SLA management phases, types, and lifecycle — and concludes with the cloud service lifecycle from planning through termination. The notes are organized in a structured format, making them suitable as exam-prep or semester-end revision material for students studying cloud infrastructure and service management. These notes were prepared by Diya during 5th semester as part of the Computer Engineering curriculum, based on lectures and prescribed textbooks on cloud computing.
