CSIR NET Cut Off 2026: Subject-Wise and Category-Wise Qualifying Marks

The CSIR NET cut-off is the minimum percentage you need to be placed in the JRF, Assistant Professor or Ph.D.-only list. It is released subject-wise and category-wise after each result. The figures below are taken from the official cut-off notice of CSIR-HRDG for the June 2026 cycle.

How the CSIR NET Cut-Off Works

  • Minimum benchmark: Every candidate needs at least 33% (General) or 25% (reserved categories) to qualify at all.

  • No sectional cut-off: Marks from Parts A, B and C are added together. There is no separate cut-off for each part.

  • Merit list: JRF ranks are assigned first from the overall merit list, so the JRF cut-off is the highest of the three and Assistant Professor eligibility follows below it.

  • Changes every cycle: The cut-off depends on the paper's difficulty and the number of fellowships available, so it moves with each exam.
