IBPS RRB Cut Off 2026: Previous Year Cut-Off and Trends

The IBPS RRB cut-off is the minimum score you need at each stage of the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks, conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). It is set separately for each post, each state and each category. Prelims and Mains also carry sectional cut-offs, so a strong total cannot cover for one weak section.

This page brings together the previous year cut-off from the CRP RRBs-XIV cycle (exams held in 2025 and early 2026) for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I, II and III, along with how the numbers moved and how to set your own target. The CRP RRBs-XV cut-offs for 2026 will come only after each stage is held, so treat everything below as a benchmark, not a prediction.

IBPS RRB 2026: Where the Cycle Stands

IBPS RRB Prelims Cut-Off 2025 (CRP RRBs-XIV)

Office Assistant and Officer Scale I Prelims both have 80 questions for 80 marks. The table shows the General (UR) cut-off for selected states, as reported after the CRP RRBs-XIV score cards were released. Confirm your state's figure on your own score card.

The Office Assistant Prelims cut-off ran well above the officer cut-off in every state listed. If you are applying for both posts, a score that clears officer Prelims in your state may still fall short for Office Assistant.

Office Assistant Mains Cut-Off 2025-26

Office Assistant selection rests on the Mains score alone, with no interview. IBPS released the CRP RRBs-XIV Mains cut-off on 15 March 2026 on a scale of 100, though the paper itself carries 200 marks. Figures below are minimum cut-offs as reported from that release.

Officer Scale I, II and III Cut-Off 2025-26

For officer posts, IBPS first applies a qualifying cut-off in each test, then a Total Weighted Score (TWS) cut-off to shortlist candidates for interview. In the CRP RRBs-XIV cut-off notice, as reported, every test was marked out of 40. The notice does not state the maximum TWS, so compare these figures with each other rather than reading them as percentages.

The Scale I Mains sectional cut-offs also varied by state group. In Tamil Nadu and Telangana, General and EWS candidates needed 12.25 in Reasoning and 18.25 in English, while the lowest state group needed 9.75 and 14.75. For Scale I, II and III, the final merit list then combines the exam and interview scores in an 80:20 ratio.

IBPS RRB Cut-Off Trend: 2024 vs 2025

The clearest shift between the last two cycles is at Officer Scale I Prelims, where the UR cut-off rose in every state listed below. Office Assistant Prelims moved in both directions, rising in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and falling in Rajasthan. These figures are as reported for the UR category, out of 80.

What Affects the IBPS RRB Cut-Off

  • State-wise vacancies: Each state is a separate merit pool, so cut-offs differ widely between neighbouring states.

  • Applicants per state: Heavy competition in large states pushes the Office Assistant cut-off up.

  • Paper difficulty and normalisation: Prelims runs in several shifts, and scores are normalised across them before cut-offs are drawn.

  • Category reservation: A reserved category's cut-off does not go above the UR figure, and where competition is close it can match it, as in several Scale I Mains rows above.

How to Set Your Target Score

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

  1. Start from your state: Take your state's last UR or category figure and add 5 to 8 marks as a working Prelims target.

  2. Protect every section: Clear each sectional minimum with room to spare, since a high total does not offset a failed section.

  3. Benchmark in mocks: Track your mock scores against these figures under the composite timing used in the real exam
