ICAR AIEEA Mock Test: Online Practice for PG and PhD

Full-length mocks, topic tests and previous papers for ICAR AIEEA PG and PhD in the real CBT format.

An ICAR AIEEA mock test is the closest you can get to the real paper before exam day. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts both the ICAR AIEEA (PG) and the AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD) test as a computer-based test of 120 multiple choice questions in 120 minutes. Each correct answer earns 4 marks and each wrong answer costs 1, so the paper rewards speed with accuracy, and only timed practice builds that.

This page brings together ICAR AIEEA mock tests on Testkart and explains how to use them well: which type of test to take at each stage, how to review an attempt, and what to track before the next cycle.

Practise in Your Own Subject Group

There is no common ICAR paper. Your questions come from the syllabus of the one Major Subject Group you choose out of 20, so an Agronomy mock does little for a Horticulture candidate. Pick tests that match your group. PhD aspirants should practise at Master's level in their discipline, because the format is the same but the questions go deeper.

How to Use Mock Tests Through Your Preparation

  1. Foundation phase: Take a topic-wise test after each unit. Start untimed, then add a timer once the concepts are clear.

  2. Building phase: Add one previous year paper or full mock every 10 days, with two or three topic tests a week.

  3. Final eight weeks: Take one full-length mock a week, moving to two or three a week in the last month. Sit each one in a single 2-hour slot.

How to Analyse Each Mock

The review matters more than the score. Spend at least as long analysing a mock as you spent taking it.

  • Wrong answers: Note the concept behind each one in an error log and revise it within two days.

  • Slow questions: Flag anything that took more than about 90 seconds and look for a quicker method.

  • Skipped but solvable: Find questions you could have answered by eliminating options.

  • Guesses: Count how many guesses you made and how many were right. With -1 marking, blind guessing usually costs more than it earns.

What to Track Across Mocks

Record your score out of 480, accuracy, number of attempts and the time left at the end for every full mock. Raise accuracy first and attempts second.

The tests listed above are set in the current CBT format, and the section-wise analysis on Testkart shows where you lose marks and time. Always confirm the latest pattern in the information bulletin on the NTA ICAR portal before each cycle.
