Indian Army GD Cut Off 2026: ARO-Wise Marks and Target Score

The Indian Army GD cut off is the minimum score that gets an Agniveer General Duty candidate through to the next stage. Unlike most government exams, there is no single national figure. The Army shortlists candidates ARO by ARO, so the cut-off in one district can be very different from the next.

This page explains how the Agniveer GD cut-off actually works, why many figures online are only estimates, and how to set a target score that keeps you safe at both the CEE and the rally.

The Two Cut-Offs in Army GD Selection

Selection for Army GD has two filters, and you need to clear both.

Stage

What is cut

Based on

CEE shortlisting

Who gets the rally admit card

Written score, applied ARO-wise in proportion to vacancies

Final merit

Who is selected

CEE (100) + PFT (100) + bonus marks, against vacancies in your ARO

The PFT carries as many marks as the written test. A candidate who scrapes past the CEE shortlist can still finish high on the final merit with a fast run, and the reverse is also true.

Is There an Official Army GD Cut-Off?

The Army publishes CEE results as ARO-wise merit lists of shortlisted roll numbers on the Join Indian Army website. It does not release one national cut-off table for GD, and category-wise figures are not part of the notification.

Many sites show expected Agniveer GD cut-offs, commonly somewhere in the 50 to 65 range out of 100. These are estimates, not Army figures, and they cannot capture the ARO-to-ARO differences. Treat them as a rough benchmark only.

What Affects the Army GD Cut-Off

  • Vacancies in your ARO: Vacancies are spread district-wise, so areas with fewer posts and more applicants need higher scores.

  • Number of candidates: Districts with a strong recruitment tradition usually see tougher competition.

  • Paper difficulty and normalisation: The CEE runs over many sessions, and scores are normalised to balance easier and harder shifts.

  • Bonus marks: NCC, sports and wards' bonus marks (up to 25) push some candidates up the final merit, which raises the effective bar for others.

How to Set Your Target Score

Cut-offs change every year, so aim for a clear margin rather than a bare pass. The targets below are Testkart's suggested preparation benchmarks, not official cut-offs.
