ISRO JPA Educational Qualification

After the corrigendum dated 11 August 2026, the qualification reads as two alternative routes followed by two common conditions.

  • Graduation route: A degree from a recognised university with at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale, completed within the stipulated duration of the course.

  • Diploma route: A Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice from a recognised board or university with at least 60% marks or 6.32 CGPA, completed within the stipulated duration, with one year of experience as a steno-typist or stenographer.

  • English stenography: A minimum speed of 60 words per minute. This applies to both routes.

  • Computer proficiency: Proficiency in the use of computers. This also applies to both routes.

For the diploma route, the advertisement treats a Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) apprenticeship certificate held by DCP or DCCP diploma holders as equal to one year of steno experience.

Percentage and CGPA rules

  • No rounding: 59.9% or a CGPA of 6.319 is not eligible.

  • No conversion: You cannot convert CGPA to percentage, or percentage to CGPA, to meet the cut-off. If your certificate shows both, at least one must meet the norm.

  • Graduation marks count: A postgraduate degree above 60% does not make up for a graduation score below 60%.

  • Normal duration only: A three-year course that took four years because of backlogs does not qualify.

  • Result must be declared: The official FAQ says candidates whose final semester result is not declared are not eligible; graduation must be complete when you apply.
