PFRDA Grade A: Eligibility

PFRDA Assistant Manager eligibility requires a clear distinction between the recruitment rules and the way you prepare for them. Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority conducts this selection for officer-level work connected with pension regulation. A strong plan begins with the correct stream, the correct cycle and the tasks actually tested, rather than a generic banking-exam timetable.

Educational qualification: choose the correct route

General stream: a recognised master’s degree or an eligible postgraduate diploma of at least two years, or a bachelor’s degree in law or engineering, or one of the named CA, CS, CMA or CFA professional qualifications. A general bachelor’s degree alone is not the General-stream route.

Treat alternative routes as separate paths. If you qualify through one recognised route, document that route fully rather than combining half of one condition with half of another. An essential qualification is mandatory; a desirable qualification strengthens a profile but does not automatically replace a missing essential condition.

Recognition, duration and equivalence can be as important as the title of the course. Where the notice accepts an equivalent diploma or professional qualification, keep the evidence establishing that equivalence. A coaching admission or a college brochure is not a recruiting-body decision about eligibility. If the degree name differs from the listed discipline, ask the official help channel for clarification before assuming that the difference is harmless.

Age limit and category relaxation

Maximum 30 years as on 31 July 2026; the unrelaxed date-of-birth threshold is 1 August 1996 or later.

Age is checked on the notice’s reference date, not the day you read this page or the examination date. Use the official birth-date window when one is printed. A new cycle may use a different reference date even if the headline age band remains unchanged. Do not calculate a future eligibility window by simply adding a year to an old table.

The relaxation table is a summary of the referenced notice. Ex-servicemen, benchmark-disability and overlapping-category claims can have additional conditions, caps and certificate requirements. Do not add concessions automatically. Read the full clause for your combination and retain the evidence supporting it. OBC reservation also requires the applicable non-creamy-layer status and prescribed certificate; a state certificate is not automatically sufficient for every central recruitment exercise.

Experience, final results and conditional eligibility

The qualification table does not prescribe a common work-experience requirement for the General stream. Do not confuse a professional qualification route with a compulsory employment history.

Candidates awaiting final qualifying results may appear in the selection stages under the notice, but an offer remains conditional on producing the required qualification within the time granted. This is a conditional provision, not permission to join without the qualification.

For an experience-based route, make a dated record of joining, qualification completion, changes of role and relieving dates. Ask the employer’s certificate to describe the actual work rather than only the designation. Where the notice requires post-qualification experience, work before obtaining the qualifying credential cannot simply be added to meet the minimum. Internships, outsourced assignments and part-time roles need to be checked against the exact employment condition.

For a result-dependent route, distinguish appearing in an examination from holding the required qualification. Read any conditional-result provision literally, including the point by which proof must be produced. An admit card is permission to take a stage; it is not a waiver of a missing qualification or document. Selection remains provisional until the recruiting body verifies the information.

Nationality, stream choice and other conditions

Read the nationality or citizenship clause in the advertisement for your own case. Where a Government of India eligibility certificate is required, admission to a test does not remove that condition. The official notice also controls stream choice, the treatment of multiple applications, service conditions and medical fitness. This guide does not create an extra attempt restriction or a language test that the notice has not prescribed.

Choose the stream only after checking its essential requirements and the tasks it tests. A familiar degree subject may help preparation but does not override the qualification table. Conversely, meeting the qualification does not guarantee selection: you still need to satisfy the examination, interview and verification requirements. Common reasons an application can fail

• Wrong route: Applying the General-stream rule to a specialist post, or assuming a desirable credential replaces an essential one.

• Wrong reference date: Measuring age or experience against today instead of the date printed in the advertisement.

• Unsupported category: Claiming a concession without the prescribed certificate, category wording or validity period.

• Incomplete result evidence: Having completed classes while the recognised qualifying result is still unavailable under the applicable rule.

• Mismatch in details: Entering a name, mark, date or work period that cannot be reconciled with the originals.

Keep a document checklist before applying

Check names across documents early. If a legitimate name change creates a mismatch, read the notice for the accepted supporting evidence. Keep clear scans and inspect the uploaded version before submission. A file can have the correct size but still be unreadable. Do not wait until the interview to discover that a required original is unavailable.

Application and fee checks

The 2026 fee is Rs. 1,000 inclusive of GST for General, EWS and OBC applicants. SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen are exempt, subject to the notice.

1. Open the recruitment entry on the official careers page and identify the exact advertisement and stream. Check for a corrigendum before beginning the form.

2. Read the age, qualification, category and experience clauses against your own records. Resolve a doubtful qualification with the recruiting body rather than relying on an unofficial assurance.

3. Prepare the photograph, signature and any required declaration in the specifications of that cycle. Enter the details exactly as supported by the documents.

4. Review the preview, pay the applicable fee where required, and retain the final application and transaction acknowledgement. Check that the submission is complete rather than assuming a bank debit alone proves registration.
