SSB Constable Study Notes: Topic-Wise Notes and Revision Plan
What to include in SSB Constable study notes and how to revise them for the written exam.
Good SSB Constable study notes are short, topic-wise and easy to revise in the last weeks before the written exam. The paper has 100 questions from four sections at Class 10 level, so you do not need long books. You need compact notes that you can read repeatedly, and an error log that tells you where you keep losing marks.
This page shows what to include for the Constable (Non-GD) trade posts of the 2026 cycle, how to organise notes, and how to revise them.
What to Include in Your Notes
Section | What to note down | Format that works |
|---|---|---|
General Knowledge | Current affairs, awards, schemes, important days, states and capitals, science facts, border forces basics | Monthly one-page lists and tables |
Mathematics | Formulas, tables, squares, shortcuts for percentage, ratio, average and time and work | Formula sheet with one solved example each |
Reasoning | Series patterns, coding rules, direction and blood relation diagrams | Pattern cards with examples |
English or Hindi | Grammar rules, common errors, vocabulary, idioms and one-word substitutions | Rule list plus a word notebook |
Add a fifth page for your trade and physical tests: licence and document checklist, run timings and any practical points for your trade.
How to Organise Your Notes
Keep notes short: One topic should fit on a single page. If it does not, you are copying instead of summarising.
Make a formula sheet: Put all Mathematics formulas and shortcuts on two pages that you can read in ten minutes.
Keep an error log: Write each mistake from a mock test with the correct method. This is the most valuable page in your preparation.
Make monthly current affairs notes: Collect only exam-relevant items such as appointments, awards, sports, schemes and defence news.
Use your own words: Notes in your own words are easier to recall than copied text.
A Simple Revision Schedule
Daily, 20 minutes: Read the formula sheet and one page of GK or vocabulary.
Weekly: Revise all notes of the topics studied that week and re-read the error log.
Monthly: Revise the monthly current affairs notes and attempt a full mock.
Last two weeks: Read only formula sheets, error logs and current affairs. Stop starting new topics.
Reliable Sources for Notes
Use your Class 8 to 10 textbooks for science, mathematics and grammar, since the paper is reported to be at that level. For current affairs, use a trusted daily or monthly summary. For recruitment rules, rely on the notification, not on notes from other candidates.
