Why is the timer 60 minutes?
In the real exam, NTA gives 3 hours for Paper 1 and Paper 2 together, with no break between them. Paper 2 has 100 questions, so most candidates aim to finish Paper 1's 50 questions in about 60 minutes. Practising with a 60-minute timer builds that pace before exam day.
What is covered in UGC NET Paper 1?
Paper 1 is common for every UGC NET candidate, whatever their Paper 2 subject. The mock tests cover all 10 units of the official syllabus:
- Teaching Aptitude
- Research Aptitude
- Comprehension
- Communication
- Mathematical Reasoning and Aptitude
- Logical Reasoning
- Data Interpretation
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- People, Development and Environment
- Higher Education System
See the full unit-wise topic list on the UGC NET syllabus page.
Previous year papers included
The 10 previous year papers let you practise the exact question style NTA uses. Data interpretation sets come with full working, for example how to calculate the number of boys passed from a total and a percentage of girls.
