Why practise both papers together?
In the real UGC NET exam, Paper 1 and Paper 2 are given together in one 3-hour session with no break between them. Practising them separately does not show you how to divide that time. These tests make you decide how long to spend on Paper 1 and how much to save for the 100 Political Science questions, and they show how your accuracy holds up in the last hour.
What is covered in Paper 1?
Paper 1 is common to all UGC NET candidates. Its 50 questions come from 10 units: Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Comprehension, Communication, Mathematical Reasoning and Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, ICT, People, Development and Environment, and the Higher Education System.
What is covered in Political Science Paper 2?
The 100 Political Science questions cover the 10 units of the official UGC NET Political Science syllabus:
- Political Theory
- Political Thought
- Indian Political Thought
- Comparative Political Analysis
- International Relations
- India's Foreign Policy
- Political Institutions in India
- Political Processes in India
- Public Administration
- Governance and Public Policy in India
See the full topic list on the UGC NET syllabus page.
Previous year papers included
The 10 previous year papers combine a Paper 1 previous year paper with a Political Science previous year paper in one 3-hour test, so you practise the exact mix and question style NTA has used in past exams.
How to use this test series

Frequently asked questions
What is the UGC NET Political Science exam pattern?
UGC NET Political Science has two papers taken together in 3 hours: Paper 1 with 50 questions and Political Science Paper 2 with 100 questions. Every question carries 2 marks, so the exam is out of 300 marks.
Is there negative marking in UGC NET Political Science?

Does this series include Paper 1?

How should I divide 3 hours between Paper 1 and Paper 2?
