Airports Authority of India Junior Executive
AAI Junior Executive is a recruitment exam conducted by Airports Authority of India for the recruitment of Executives, relevant to candidates preparing for recruitment at public sector undertakings and central institutions.
The AAI Junior Executive recruitment is run by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to fill entry-level executive posts in Group B, pay level E-1. The current cycle is Advertisement No. 12/2026/CHQ/DR-CBT, which covers four Junior Executive disciplines: Finance, Law, Operations, and Survey and Cartography. Selection is through a computer-based test (CBT), followed by document verification and a medical examination.
This page gives you the cycle in one place: vacancies, dates, eligibility, fee, exam pattern, syllabus, selection stages, salary and a preparation approach. Where a detail comes from the official advertisement we say so, and where it comes only from third-party reports we label it tentative. Always confirm final details on the official AAI recruitment page.
The online application window for this notification is reported closed. The advertisement gave 7 September 2026 as the last date, so confirm the current status on the official AAI recruitment page. The eligibility, fee and application details below describe this notification. Expect similar criteria in the next notice, but check that notice before you rely on them.

Notification Overview
AAI posted the detailed English advertisement on its recruitment dashboard on 22 July 2026, and a Hindi version followed on 3 August 2026. The same advertisement covers 389 posts in total: 260 Manager posts and 129 Junior Executive posts. This page is about the Junior Executive posts only, which carry post codes 12 to 15.
Two points are worth noting before you plan. First, Junior Executive posts have no interview stage, so your CBT score carries the whole merit decision. Second, this notification does not include Junior Executive posts for Air Traffic Control or for engineering streams selected through GATE. AAI has filled those through separate notifications in earlier cycles, so check the Careers section of aai.aero if you are looking for them.

The application window for this notification is reported closed. The advertisement itself says the CBT date will be announced on the AAI website. The CBT is reported as taking place on 21 and 26 October 2026, based on a tentative schedule notice that news sites reported as published on 23 September 2026, so the exam is very close. These dates are still to be confirmed on the official AAI site. Tentative dates come from that schedule and can change. Track the official recruitment dashboard on aai.aero and your registered email, and rely on your admit card for the final date, shift and reporting time.
Vacancy Details
The advertisement lists the following Junior Executive vacancies. AAI describes them as tentative, and benchmark disability vacancies are included within the category totals.
Post (code) | Total | UR | EWS | OBC (NCL) | SC | ST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Finance (12) | 36 | 13 | 6 | 6 | 5 | 6 |
Law (13) | 6 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 |
Operations (14) | 79 | 35 | 7 | 21 | 11 | 5 |
Survey and Cartography (15) | 8 | 5 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
Total | 129 | 58 | 13 | 29 | 18 | 11 |
Operations alone accounts for more than half of the Junior Executive seats, while Law has only six. Competition per seat will differ sharply by discipline, so choose the post that matches your degree and strengths rather than the one with the most vacancies.
Eligibility
Each discipline has its own qualification, and none requires prior work experience. These criteria describe this notification, so expect similar criteria in the next notice but check it before you plan. A full breakdown, including the age relaxation and common disqualifiers, is on the AAI Junior Executive eligibility page.
Educational Qualification
Post | Qualification as per the advertisement |
|---|---|
Finance | MBA or PGDM with Finance specialization, or Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst |

Operations | Science graduate with a full-time regular 2-year MBA, or a full-time regular Bachelor's degree in Engineering |
Survey and Cartography | Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology (Civil), or a Master's in Science in Geography, Remote Sensing and GIS, Geo-informatics or Geomatics |
Age Limit
The maximum age is 27 years as on 7 September 2026. Reserved categories get relaxation: 5 years for SC and ST, 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer), 10 years for persons with permanent benchmark disabilities, up to 5 years for eligible ex-servicemen and up to 10 years for regular AAI employees who have completed probation.
Other Conditions
Driving licence: Junior Executive (Operations) candidates need a valid Light Motor Vehicle licence. Learner or temporary licences are not accepted.
Medical standards: Colour blindness and night blindness are rejection criteria for Law, Operations, and Survey and Cartography, but not for Finance.
Posting: You must be willing to serve anywhere in India.
Application Fee and Process
Category | Fee |
|---|---|
General, OBC and EWS | Rs. 1,000 (inclusive of GST), online payment only |
SC, ST, PwBD, women, and AAI apprentices who completed one year of apprenticeship | Nil |
For this notification the fee was non-refundable, and bank transaction charges were borne by the candidate. Candidates could apply for more than one post, but each needed a separate registration and fee. Applications were accepted only online through the Careers tab on aai.aero. The window is reported closed, so the steps below describe the process used for this notification and show what a similar notice may ask for.
Open the Careers section of aai.aero and select Advertisement No. 12/2026/CHQ/DR-CBT.
Register with a personal email ID and mobile number. Neither can be changed later.
Fill in the form for your chosen post and upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration.
Pay the fee online and keep the e-receipt. If no receipt is generated, the payment has failed and you should retry.
Submit the form and save a copy. Once submitted, it cannot be corrected.
Applicants most often lose their candidature through mismatched date of birth (only the Matriculation or Secondary certificate is accepted), a missing specialization on the degree, or a declaration written in the wrong language. The declaration must be in English and in your own handwriting.
Exam Pattern
The official advertisement confirms that the CBT is objective type, carries no negative marking and is bilingual (Hindi and English) except for the language test. Where candidates appear in more than one session, scores are equated across sessions. The advertisement does not list the sections, number of questions, marks or duration, which sit in the syllabus document on the AAI website.
Third-party reports describe a 120-mark paper of two hours, split into Part A (general knowledge, reasoning, aptitude and English) and Part B (subjects linked to your qualification). The reported Part B share is 70 percent for Finance and Law and 50 percent for Operations. Treat these as unconfirmed until you read the syllabus document on the official site. The AAI Junior Executive exam pattern page explains each element in more detail.
What this means for you:
Attempt everything: With no negative marking, a blank answer earns nothing and a guess costs nothing.
Part B decides your rank: If it carries 50 to 70 percent of the marks, subject depth matters more than general studies.
Plan for two languages: Choose the medium you read fastest, and treat the English test as a scoring section rather than a hurdle.
Older pages and pattern tables for other AAI recruitments may show negative marking or different section counts, so follow the official advertisement for this cycle.
Syllabus Summary
AAI publishes the syllabus as a document attached to the advertisement on its website. The tables below are working checklists built from third-party summaries and the qualifying degrees, so use them to organise your study and verify them against the official document.
Post | Part A | Part B focus |
|---|---|---|
Finance | General knowledge, reasoning, aptitude, English | Accounting, tax, cost accounting, financial management, auditing, business law |
Law | General knowledge, reasoning, aptitude, English | Constitutional, commercial, procedural and aviation law |
Operations | General studies with aviation-related topics | Physics, Mathematics and business management (reported) |
Survey and Cartography | General knowledge, reasoning, aptitude, English | Subjects of the qualifying civil engineering, geography or geomatics degree |
The detailed AAI Junior Executive syllabus lists topics by post.
Selection Process
Computer-based test: Candidates are shortlisted on CBT performance, and roll numbers are posted on the AAI website.
Document verification: Shortlisted candidates bring original certificates and one set of self-attested copies. Missing or mismatched documents lead to rejection.
Provisional selection: The merit list is based on CBT marks, subject to eligibility, document checks, character and antecedents, and medical fitness.
Offer letter: AAI sends the offer by email and also posts it on its website.
Candidates who already work for a central or state government body, autonomous body or PSU must produce a No Objection Certificate from their present employer. A resignation letter or undertaking is not accepted in its place.

How to Prepare
Because the CBT is reported for 21 and 26 October 2026 (tentative), read the phases below as revision for the remaining days if you are sitting this cycle, or as a full plan for the next cycle. Start with the structure: every candidate faces a general section and a subject section, so split your time accordingly and stay consistent. Read your qualification subjects with the syllabus checklist open, and finish one pass of Part B before adding timed practice.
Stage-Wise Approach
First phase: Revise the core Part B subjects from standard textbooks and bare acts, and read one newspaper daily for general awareness.
Second phase: Add reasoning, aptitude and English practice in short daily sessions, and begin topic-wise tests.
Final phase: Move to full-length mocks, review each one the same day, and revise from an error log.
Using Mock Tests
A paper that mixes two very different sections is a time-management exercise as much as a knowledge test. For timed practice in the current format, educators publish tests, courses and notes on Testkart, and the AAI Junior
Cut-Off Reference
AAI has not published category-wise cut-offs for these four Junior Executive disciplines that we could verify, so no previous-cycle figures are shown here. Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat any future figure as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above it rather than a bare pass. Until results are out, your scores in full-length mocks on Testkart are the most practical benchmark you have. Read how merit is decided on the AAI Junior Executive cut-off page.
