AAI Junior Executive Eligibility 2026: Qualification and Age Limit
AAI Junior Executive eligibility for the 2026 cycle depends on the post. Advertisement No. 12/2026/CHQ/DR-CBT sets a different qualification for each of the four Junior Executive posts (Finance, Law, Operations, and Survey and Cartography), a common upper age limit of 27 years, and no work experience requirement. Age and certificate dates are counted as on 7 September 2026, the closing date for online applications under this notification.
This page explains each condition in plain terms, points out where candidates commonly go wrong, and lists the extra requirements that apply after the exam. All conditions are taken from the official advertisement, which you can read on the AAI recruitment page. If anything on this page differs from the advertisement, the advertisement prevails.
The online application window for this notification is reported closed, so confirm the current status on the AAI site. The criteria below describe this notification. Expect similar criteria in the next notice, but check that notice before you plan.

Rules That Affect Your Degree
Mode of study: Degrees obtained through open or distance mode are accepted if they are from UGC-recognised universities or AICTE-approved courses. Operations asks for a full-time regular MBA or engineering degree, so check that clause closely.
Law degree recognition: The degree counts only if it comes from an institution recognised by the Bar Council of India.
Percentages and grades: Enter percentages to two decimal places. If your university awards CGPA or grades, convert them to a percentage, and keep an equivalence certificate ready in case AAI asks for it.
Specialization: If the specialization is not printed on your degree or marksheet, obtain a clarification certificate from the university or its registrar.
Integrated Master's: You must also produce the Bachelor's certificate and marks statement.
The advertisement leaves the minimum pass percentage field blank, so we cannot state a cut-off for marks. Read the full advertisement for the exact wording.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The maximum age is 27 years as on 7 September 2026. Your date of birth is taken only from your Matriculation or Secondary certificate, and changes are not entertained later.
Category | Upper age relaxation | Resulting upper limit |
|---|---|---|
General and EWS | None listed | 27 years |
SC and ST | 5 years | 32 years |
OBC (non-creamy layer) | 3 years | 30 years |
PwBD (permanent disability, suitable posts only) | 10 years | 37 years |
Ex-servicemen (eligible service and release conditions) | Up to 5 years | Up to 32 years |
Regular AAI employees (probation completed) | Up to 10 years | Up to 37 years |
The upper limits in the last column are our arithmetic from the stated relaxation. OBC reserved vacancies are open only to non-creamy-layer candidates. A disability certificate must have been issued on or before 7 September 2026 for the relaxation to apply.
Other Conditions
Driving licence for Operations: Junior Executive (Operations) candidates must hold a valid Light Motor Vehicle licence. Learner or temporary licences are not accepted.
Medical standards: Colour blindness and night blindness are rejection criteria for Law, Operations, and Survey and Cartography. They are not rejection criteria for Finance.
Disability suitability: PwBD candidates are assessed against the functional requirements listed for each post before appointment.
Willingness to relocate: You must be willing to be posted anywhere in India.
Present employer: If you work for a central or state government body, an autonomous body or a PSU, you need a No Objection Certificate from your employer. A resignation letter or undertaking is not a substitute.
Who Is Not Eligible
Wrong stream for the post: A graduate with an MBA but no science degree is not eligible for Operations under this notification, because the first route needs a science graduate.
Part-time or unrecognised courses: A part-time MBA or engineering degree does not meet the Operations requirement, and a non-recognised law degree does not meet the Law requirement.
Over the age limit: Anyone whose date of birth on the Matriculation certificate puts them above 27 on 7 September 2026 without a valid relaxation.
Missing certificates: Caste certificates issued after the reference date, an OBC certificate not valid for FY 2026-27, or an EWS certificate not valid for that year.
Non-English or non-Hindi documents without translation: These need a notarised translation.
Mere eligibility does not guarantee a call for the next stage. Selection is provisional until verification, character and antecedent checks, and medical fitness are complete.
Educators publish tests, courses and notes on Testkart, and the exam page shows what is currently available for AAI Junior Executive.
Fee and Documents
Under this notification the application fee was Rs. 1,000 (inclusive of GST) for General, OBC and EWS candidates. SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates, as well as AAI apprentices who completed one year of apprenticeship, paid no fee. The online form asked for a photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration in English, so a similar notice may ask for the same. The overview of AAI Junior Executive recruitment covers the application steps, vacancies and dates.
