AIIMS BSc Nursing Cut-off 2026: Qualifying and Closing Ranks

The AIIMS BSc Nursing cut-off works at two levels. First, there is a qualifying score in the entrance test, set by AIIMS in its prospectus. Second, there is the closing rank at each AIIMS in each counselling round, which decides who actually gets a seat. This page explains both, using the 2026 prospectus and the 2026 Round 1 seat allocation as reported from the AIIMS notification.

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, seats and the number of applicants. Treat the figures below as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them.

Closing ranks usually move further down in Round 2 and the open round as seats are vacated. AIIMS New Delhi usually closes earliest because it is the first choice of most top rankers.

What Affects the Cut-off

  • Paper difficulty: A tougher paper lowers raw scores, though ranks stay comparable.

  • Seats: The number of participating AIIMS and seats has grown in recent years (1,366 seats at 19 AIIMS in 2026). More seats usually push closing ranks further down.

  • Applicants: More candidates mean more competition for the same seats.

  • Normalisation: With two shifts in 2026, scores were normalised across shifts.

How to Set Your Target

Do not aim for the qualifying score. Clearing 50% only makes you eligible for counselling. A seat at a preferred AIIMS needs a rank well inside the closing ranks above, which in turn needs high accuracy across all four sections.

A practical approach is to track your score across full-length mocks and aim to stay steadily above your target, not reach it once.
