AIIMS Nursing Officer posts are filled through NORCET, the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test conducted by AIIMS New Delhi. Eligibility Criteria
Route 1: B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing, B.Sc Nursing or Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing from a recognised institute, plus registration as a Nurse and Midwife with a State or Indian Nursing Council.
Route 2: Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), the same registration, and 2 years of experience in a hospital of at least 50 beds after the qualification.
Age: 18 to 30 years on the closing date of registration, with 5 years of relaxation for SC and ST, 3 for OBC and 10 for PwBD.
Nationality: Indian citizen.

SC and ST candidates get their fee refunded after the results if they appear in the exam and their certificate is verified. Other fees are not refundable.

Selection Process
Stage I (preliminary): A qualifying test. Candidates who reach the qualifying percentile are shortlisted for Stage II at up to 5 times the seats in each category.
Stage II (main): A case-based nursing test. Merit is decided only by Stage II.
Choice filling and allocation: Qualified candidates fill institute preferences, and seats are allotted in merit order, generally in one round.
Joining: You must join the allotted institute. Failing to join cancels your candidature for that NORCET, and there is no waiting list.

Syllabus Summary
AIIMS does not publish a topic-wise syllabus. Questions are set at the level of the essential qualification, so the B.Sc Nursing and GNM curriculum is the base. Core subjects include fundamentals of nursing, medical-surgical nursing, child health, obstetrics and gynaecology, mental health, community health, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology and microbiology. Salary
Nursing Officers are placed at Level 7 of the pay matrix, which starts at a basic pay of Rs. 44,900. Dearness allowance, house rent allowance, nursing allowance and other central government benefits are paid on top, so the take-home amount depends on the city and current rates.
How to Prepare
Weeks 1 to 8: Revise the core nursing subjects, starting with medical-surgical nursing and fundamentals, which carry a large share of questions.
From week 3: 20 to 30 minutes a day of general knowledge and aptitude for the 20 non-nursing questions in Stage I.
From week 6: Case-based and image-based practice questions, since Stage II tests clinical judgement rather than recall.
From week 8: Sectional tests of 20 questions in 18 minutes to get used to the locked-section format.
Final phase: Full-length mocks for both stages, same-day analysis and revision from an error log.
