DRDO STA-B Cut-off: Previous Year and Trends
The DRDO STA-B cut-off is set separately for each post code and category, first at Tier I for shortlisting and then at Tier II for provisional selection. CEPTAM does not always publish a consolidated cut-off list for STA-B, and for CEPTAM-11 candidates saw their Tier I qualifying status in the result login reported on 25 May 2026. As of 27 October 2026, the Tier II result had not been published.
The figures on this page are previous cut-offs as reported from earlier cycles. Use them as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

CEPTAM-10 Tier I Cut-off (Reported)
These figures were reported after the CEPTAM-10 Tier I result in December 2022. They appear to be normalised percentile-type scores, not raw marks, so they cannot be compared directly with a CEPTAM-11 raw score out of 150.

Civil Engineering | 99.46 | 98.56 | 97.53 | 96.08 | 90.39 |

These are reported figures, not an official DRDO list.
CEPTAM-09 Tier II Cut-off (Reported)
Tier II cut-offs from CEPTAM-09 (2018 to 2019) were reported as raw marks. The paper format has changed since then, so read these only as a rough sense of the level needed.

|---|---|---|---|---|
Electrical Engineering | 72 | 73 | 68 | 68 |
Electronics / ECE / ETE | 71 | 70 | 64 | 67 |
Computer Science | 69 | 68 | 62 | 61 |

What Affects the Cut-off
Vacancies per post code: A post code with only a few posts can have a very high cut-off even if fewer people apply.
Number of applicants: Popular disciplines such as Mechanical, Computer Science and Electronics draw large numbers.
Paper difficulty: CEPTAM-11 Tier I was reported as easy to moderate, which usually pushes cut-offs up.
Normalisation: When an exam runs in more than one shift, scores are adjusted, so published figures may not look like raw marks.
How to Set Your Target Score
Cut-offs change every cycle with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat past figures as a benchmark, not as a promise. A practical approach:
Tier I: Aim for steady accuracy across all four sections and a raw score well above the 40 percent minimum. Reported good attempts for CEPTAM-11 were about 115 to 125 out of 150.
Tier II: Aim to score comfortably above the level of past Tier II figures for your discipline, since this paper decides selection.
Track mock scores: Measure your progress with timed mocks and keep a target band, not a single number.
