EMRS Lab Attendant Cut-Off: Target Score Guide

The EMRS Lab Attendant cut-off is the minimum score needed to move ahead in the NESTS selection process, from Tier I to Tier II and then to document verification. This page explains how to read the cut-off and how to set a target, rather than quoting numbers that could not be verified.

NESTS has released marks and post-wise cut-off information for the Tier I result of the ESSE 2025 drive, according to news reports. Lab Attendant figures were not available in a form that could be checked against the official NESTS website, so none are listed. Check your scorecard and the result notice for the actual cut-offs.

Cut-offs usually differ by category, such as UR, EWS, OBC, SC and ST. Do not compare your score with a figure from a different post or category.

What Affects the Cut-Off

  • Difficulty of the paper: a harder paper lowers raw scores and the cut-off.

  • Number of vacancies: more vacancies usually mean a lower cut-off.

  • Number of applicants: a large applicant pool pushes the cut-off up.

  • Shortlisting rule: if candidates are shortlisted by a ratio of vacancies, the last shortlisted score becomes the effective cut-off.

How to Set Your Target

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

  1. Set a sectional floor: aim for steady accuracy in reasoning, maths, awareness, computer and language rather than one strong section.

  2. Track mock averages: look at the average of your last five mocks, not your best one.

  3. Guard accuracy: negative marking is reported, so wrong answers cost twice.

  4. Build a margin: target a mock score comfortably above the cut-off you expect for your category.
