FCI Assistant Grade 3 Eligibility 2026: Qualification, Age Limit and Relaxation

FCI Assistant Grade 3 eligibility depends on the stream you apply for. General and Depot posts accept graduates in any discipline, while Accounts, Technical and Hindi posts ask for a specific degree. Every candidate must also meet the age limit and nationality rules on the reference date the notification fixes.

FCI has not released a new Category III notification as of 11 October 2026. The rules below come from the last official cycle, Advertisement No. 01/2022, where qualification, experience and age were all reckoned as on 1 August 2022. Expect a new reference date in the next notification, and check whether any rule has changed before you apply.

All except Indian citizens need a Government of India eligibility certificate.

  • Posting: Selected candidates serve in the zone they applied for, but FCI can post them anywhere in India in its interest.

  • Medical fitness: Appointment depends on a medical examination and verification of character and antecedents.

  • Number of attempts: The 2022 notification did not set a limit on attempts; the age limit is the only cap.

Who Is Not Eligible

  • Wrong degree for the stream: For example, a B.A. graduate applying for AG-III Accounts, or a B.Com graduate applying for AG-III Technical.

  • Over the age limit after relaxation: Age is checked strictly against the reference date.

  • OBC creamy layer: These candidates do not get OBC age relaxation.

  • Multiple applications: Only the application with the higher registration number is considered, and the fee is not refunded.

  • Unconverted marks: Entering CGPA instead of a converted percentage can lead to rejection at document verification.

Fee and Documents

In the 2022 cycle the fee was Rs. 500, including GST and excluding bank charges. SC, ST, PwBD, women, Ex-Servicemen and serving Defence personnel were exempt.

Always confirm eligibility in the official notification on the Food Corporation of India website.
