PGIMER Nursing Study Notes: What to Prepare and How to Revise
How to build and revise PGIMER Nursing notes for Nursing Officer and B.Sc Nursing entrance preparation.
Good notes shorten revision. For PGIMER Nursing, where the Nursing Officer paper spans many nursing subjects and the B.Sc entrance spans four school subjects, a clean set of short notes is often what you will read in the last two weeks. This page shows what to include, how to organise it, and how to revise it.
What to include, by test
Test | Notes to prepare | Format that works |
|---|---|---|
Nursing Officer | Clinical subjects, community health programmes, immunisation schedule, normal values, drug classes, nutrition and deficiency diseases | One-page topic sheets, comparison tables, flowcharts for care steps |
B.Sc Nursing, 4-year | Biology diagrams, Chemistry reactions and formulae, Physics formulae, English grammar rules | Formula sheets, labelled diagrams, rule lists |
Post-Basic B.Sc | GNM-level nursing subjects and general aptitude | Short subject notes and quick-recall tables |
How to organise your notes
Short notes per topic: Keep each topic to one page, with definitions, causes, signs, nursing care and complications.
Tables for comparisons: Use them for drug classes, vitamins and deficiency diseases, or stages of labour.
Formula and value sheet: Keep dose formulas, normal ranges and key numbers together.
Error log: Record each mock-test mistake with the right answer and the reason you missed it.
Programme and schedule notes: Keep national health programmes and vaccination schedules on a separate sheet, since they are fact-heavy.
Revision schedule
Same day: Read your notes once before sleeping.
After one week: Revise that week's sheets and attempt a short topic test.
Monthly: Review the error log and weak topics.
Last two weeks: Revise only short notes, formula sheets and the error log.
Reliable sources for notes
Build notes from standard nursing textbooks and, for the B.Sc entrance, school-level science books. For dates, eligibility and pattern, rely on the notice on the official PGIMER website, not on forwarded messages or unverified summaries.
