Railway Pharmacist Cut Off: Qualifying Marks and Target Score
The Railway Pharmacist cut off is the CBT score at which an RRB stops calling candidates for document verification. It is not one national number. Each RRB prepares its own merit list, and the cut-off differs by region and category. This page explains how it works and how to set a realistic target for CEN 05/2026.
Official cut-offs for the current cycle are not released yet, because the CBT has not been held. We have deliberately not listed unofficial or estimated figures as if they were official.
Minimum Qualifying Marks (Official)
Category | Minimum qualifying marks in CBT |
|---|---|
UR / EWS | 40% |
OBC-NCL | 30% |
SC | 30% |
ST | 25% |
These are only the floor. Reaching them keeps you in the merit list, but selection depends on rank within your RRB against the number of vacancies, as set out in the Railway Pharmacist exam pattern.
Previous Cut-off and Trend
For the earlier paramedical drive (CEN 03/2025), RRBs published result and cut-off documents on their regional websites. Those figures vary by RRB and category, and several categories show no cut-off in some regions where vacancies were few. Because we could not verify one consolidated official table, check the result notices on your own RRB's website for the exact numbers. Treat last cycle's numbers as a benchmark only, since cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants.
What Affects the Cut-off
Vacancies in your RRB: Fewer posts usually mean a higher cut-off.
Number of candidates: A larger pool raises competition.
Paper difficulty: A tougher pharmacy section can lower scores overall.
Category and reservation: Each category has its own merit list and cut-off.
Negative marking: One-third mark per wrong answer lowers net scores.
How to Set Your Target Score
Start from the qualifying mark: For UR that is 40 marks out of 100, which is the minimum, not the aim.
Aim for a clear margin: Look at your RRB's last published cut-off for your category and target well above it.
Track mock scores: Score consistently above your target in the last 8 to 10 full tests.
Watch accuracy: Keep wrong answers low, since each costs about 0.33 marks.
