State Government Recruitment

Rajasthan High Court Syllabus: Clerical Posts Topic List

The Rajasthan High Court syllabus is published inside the advertisement for each recruitment, not as one fixed document, so it changes with the post and the cycle. This page gives a working topic checklist based on the areas that the 2022 clerical-cadre advertisement (Junior Judicial Assistant, Judicial Assistant and Clerk Grade II) listed, and explains how to adapt it for other non-judicial posts.

The High Court's advertisement PDFs are scanned documents, and the subject-wise marks split is hard to read in the copy we reviewed. Treat the lists below as a tentative study guide and always match them against the notice for your post on the official website.

Key Points to Know Before You Start

  • Syllabus is post-specific: Stenographer, translator, accounts, driver and Class IV posts have different requirements from the clerical cadre.

  • The advertisement is the final word: Third-party websites often copy an older syllabus, so compare the year in the title of the notice.

  • Skill components are separate: Typing and efficiency tests are not covered by the written-paper syllabus and need their own practice.

English Language Syllabus

The 2022 clerical advertisement listed English language topics such as sentence improvement, tenses, voice, narration, transformation of sentences, articles, synonyms and antonyms, and idioms. Cover them in the order below.

  • Grammar core: Tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, prepositions and conjunctions.

  • Sentence work: Active and passive voice, direct and indirect speech, and sentence transformation.

  • Vocabulary: Synonyms, antonyms, one-word substitution, idioms and phrases.

  • Error spotting and improvement: Practise short sets so you learn the common error patterns.

Grammar rules are limited in number, and English is often the section where steady practice pays off fastest.

Hindi Language Syllabus

Hindi was listed as a separate language section. The detailed topic list in the scanned advertisement is not reliably legible, so use standard clerical-level Hindi coverage and cross-check with the notice.

  • Vyakaran: Sandhi, samas, upsarg, pratyay, ling, vachan and karak.

  • Shabd gyan: Paryayvachi, vilom, anekarthi shabd, muhavare and lokoktiyan.

  • Vakya shuddhi: Correcting sentences and choosing the right word.

  • Comprehension: Reading short passages and answering direct questions.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs

General knowledge is broad, so plan for coverage rather than depth. Current affairs rewards daily reading far more than a last-minute cram.

Rajasthan Geography and Natural Resources

Rajasthan-specific sections are where state-focused preparation separates you from general candidates.

Physical geography

Study the four physical divisions, the Aravalli range and its peaks, the Thar desert, plateau and plains, along with soil types and climate zones.

Rivers, lakes and irrigation

Cover major rivers such as Luni, Chambal and Banas, important lakes, and irrigation projects and canals.

Natural resources

Study minerals, forests, wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, agriculture and major crops, and energy sources including solar and wind in the state.

Rajasthan History and Culture

Revise the history of major Rajput dynasties, important forts and palaces, freedom movement and peasant movements in the state, and the integration of Rajasthan.

Culture topics typically include folk dances and music, fairs and festivals, handicrafts, paintings, and well-known saints and folk deities. A timeline chart works well for dynasties, and a map-based note works well for forts and fairs.

Computer Knowledge and Typing Test

The 2022 advertisement asked for basic computer knowledge and included a computer typing and efficiency test. The following skills help with both the paper and the skill test.

  • Basics: Operating a computer, files and folders, keyboard shortcuts and common software.

  • Word processing: Formatting letters, paragraphs, pages and tables.

  • Dual-language typing: Typing in English and Hindi, using the fonts named in the instructions.

The required speed and duration come from the advertisement and test instructions, and not from this page.
