RBI Grade B Cut Off: Phase 1, Phase 2 and Final Trends

RBI Grade B Phase 1 sectional and overall cut-offs, Phase 2 and final cut-offs, and previous year trends.

The RBI Grade B cut off is the minimum score needed to move from one stage to the next and, finally, to be selected. RBI releases cut-offs for each stream and category after every stage. Because Phase I has sectional cut-offs and the final merit combines Phase II and the interview, understanding the cut-off structure is as important as knowing the numbers.

Factors That Affect the Cut Off

  • Number of vacancies: Fewer posts, as in 2026 (60 vacancies), usually push cut-offs up.

  • Number of candidates: More applicants mean tougher competition.

  • Difficulty of the paper: A harder paper usually lowers the cut-off.

  • Negative marking: Wrong answers pull down scores, especially in GA and Reasoning.

  • Category and stream: Each category and stream has its own cut-off.

How to Use Cut Offs in Your Preparation

  • Aim well above the previous overall cut-off in your Phase I mock tests, not just at it.

  • Track sectional scores in every mock, because missing one sectional cut-off ends your attempt.

  • For Phase II, set a target comfortably above the previous aggregate, since the interview adds only 75 marks.
