RPSC 2nd Grade Cut-off: Subject-wise Previous Marks

The RPSC 2nd Grade cut-off is the lowest combined score out of 500 at which candidates were placed in RPSC's provisional list for eligibility checking. Cut-offs are released subject-wise, category-wise and separately for Non-TSP (Non-Scheduled Area) and TSP (Scheduled Area) posts, so there is no single cut-off for the exam.

The figures below are from the previous cycle, the Senior Teacher (Secondary Education) Competitive Exam 2024, whose provisional lists were released in January and February 2026. Cut-offs for the current cycle (Advertisement No. 07/2025-26) are being released subject by subject. Use these numbers as a benchmark only.

What the Trend Shows

  • Subject matters most: Science cut-offs were roughly 80 to 95 marks lower than Hindi and Sanskrit for the general category, reflecting paper difficulty and the number of posts.

  • Category gaps are wide: In Mathematics, the SC and ST cut-offs were more than 110 marks below the general cut-off.

  • TSP cut-offs are lower: Scheduled Area cut-offs ran well below Non-TSP for most subjects, partly because the candidate pool for TSP posts is smaller.

What Affects the Cut-off

  • Vacancies: This cycle's posts were reported as revised from 6,500 to 9,651, far more than the 2,129 posts in the 2024 cycle, which may push some subject cut-offs down.

  • Number of applicants: More than 12 lakh candidates reportedly applied this cycle.

  • Paper difficulty: A tougher paper lowers scores across the board.

  • Answer key revisions: Questions deleted or changed in the final key alter every candidate's score.

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

How to Set Your Target

  • Pick your subject's benchmark: Take the previous Non-TSP cut-off for your subject and category and add 20 to 30 marks as a working target.

  • Split it by paper: Aim for about 40 percent of the target from Paper 1 and 60 percent from Paper 2, in line with the marks.

  • Track mock scores against it: Compare your full-length mock totals with the target after negative marking, not raw attempts. The section-wise analysis on Testkart shows which paper is pulling your total down.

Official result notices and cut-off lists are on the RPSC results page. Check the figures for your own subject, category and area there, as they are the only authoritative source.
