How to Use Mock Tests
Start with a baseline: Take one full-length mock early to see where you stand before deep revision.
Match the real conditions: Sit in one go, keep to 90 minutes and apply the one-third negative marking.
Increase frequency gradually: Move from weekly full mocks to two or three a week in the last four to six weeks.
Revise between mocks: A mock without revision only measures you; the revision is what improves the next score.
How to Analyse a Mock
Wrong answers: Sort them into concept gaps, careless errors and guesses, and fix concept gaps first.
Slow questions: Note questions that took more than two minutes, even if you got them right.
Skipped but solvable: Re-try skipped questions without the timer; if you can solve them, work on speed.
Track numbers: Record your score, accuracy, attempts and section-wise marks for every mock, and compare them with the previous year's cut-off.
Common Mock Test Mistakes
Chasing attempts: Trying to answer all 100 questions usually adds wrong answers and costs marks under negative marking.
Skipping the general sections in practice: The 30 general questions are where many close merit positions are decided.
Repeating the same mock: A second attempt at the same paper inflates your score; use fresh tests to measure progress.
Official RRB Mock Test
The CEN 05/2026 notice says RRB will make a mock test available on its official website so candidates can get familiar with the online exam. RRBs usually activate this link shortly before the CBT; for CEN 03/2025 it appeared in early March 2026, a few days before the exam. No official mock test for CEN 05/2026 had been released at the time of writing, so check the official RRB website once the exam schedule is out.
