Eligibility summary
For most programmes, you need a graduation degree from a recognised university or an Institution of National Importance with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade. SC and ST candidates need at least 45%. No general upper age limit is stated for the MBA programmes.
Several programmes add their own conditions. Business Analytics and Infrastructure Development and Management can require work experience, Operations and Supply Chain Management expects an engineering degree, and the dual degree programmes set higher percentage cut-offs.

SNAP 2026 exam pattern
SNAP 2026 has four sections and a total of 60 questions, each worth one mark. The 60 minutes are not divided by section, and you may attempt the sections in any order.
Section | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
General English | 10 | 10 |
Analytical and Logical Reasoning | 20 | 20 |
Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency | 20 | 20 |
Ethics, Morality and Values | 10 | 10 |
Total | 60 | 60 |
The main change this cycle is the new Ethics, Morality and Values section, which takes the paper from three sections to four. Older pages and last year's papers may still show the earlier structure, so follow the official test structure.
Syllabus summary
The official site names the four sections but does not publish a chapter-wise syllabus. The topic lists on Testkart are working checklists built from the section names, official guidance and the kinds of questions asked in earlier papers. They are not an official list.
Section | Important topics |
|---|---|
General English | Reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, para jumbles, sentence correction |
Analytical and Logical Reasoning | Arrangements, puzzles, syllogisms, coding, series, statement and conclusion |
Quantitative, DI and DS | Arithmetic, algebra, number systems, geometry, data interpretation, data sufficiency |
Ethics, Morality and Values | Situation-based questions on honesty, fairness, integrity, accountability and responsibility |
Go to the SNAP syllabus 2026 page for the full topic checklist and a phased plan.
Selection process
Admission is a two-step process. First, you are shortlisted on your SNAP percentile for each programme you applied to. Then you attend the institute's Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interaction (PI) rounds. As per the official SNAP page, the merit list weightage is:
SNAP score: 50%
Group Exercise: 10%
Personal Interaction: 40%
If you are shortlisted for several programmes, you attend GE and PI for each one separately. Institutes publish their own category-wise merit and wait-list cut-offs, so also read each institute's admission page for any variation.
Cut-off reference
SNAP does not publish a single cut-off. Each institute and programme sets its own percentile cut-off for the GE and PI shortlist. Treat figures from earlier years as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them.
How to prepare for SNAP
SNAP is a speed-and-accuracy test: 60 questions in 60 minutes leaves about one minute per question, and wrong answers cost marks. Prepare in phases rather than all at once.
Phase 1: Build the base
Spend the first stretch on concepts for Quantitative Aptitude and reasoning, and on a daily reading habit for English. Begin short sets on Ethics, Morality and Values early, because the section is new and there are no old papers to rely on.
Phase 2: Practise by topic and section
Move to topic-wise and sectional timed sets. Keep an error log that records why each mistake happened: concept gap, careless slip or time pressure. Review the log weekly.
Phase 3: Full-length mocks
In the final weeks, take full-length mocks in the real format and analyse each one the same day. For timed practice in the current pattern, you can attempt .Always confirm dates, fees and rules on snaptest.org.
