SNAP Eligibility 2026: Qualification, Marks and Programme Rules
SNAP eligibility 2026 is simple at the exam level and detailed at the programme level. The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test accepts graduates from a recognised university or Institution of National Importance with at least 50% marks (45% for SC and ST candidates), but individual MBA programmes can add their own conditions.
This page sets out the general criteria, the programme-specific rules published on the official SNAP site, the position on age limit and final-year students, and the fee you should keep in mind before registering. Registration for the 2026 cycle closes on 25 November 2026, and the score is valid for admission for the 2027-28 academic year.

Educational qualification
For most Symbiosis MBA programmes, you must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an Institution of National Importance. The minimum is 50% marks or an equivalent grade, and 45% for SC and ST candidates.
The official criteria do not give a percentage conversion formula or rounding rule on the pages we reviewed. If your university awards CGPA or grades, check the SNAP Bulletin 2026 and the institute's admission page for how conversion is applied, and keep your mark sheets ready. Do not assume rounding up will be accepted.
Some programmes, such as SIMS, apply a flat 50% requirement with no separate SC and ST relaxation listed. Always read the criteria of the specific programme you intend to apply to.
Programme-specific criteria
The SNAP score can be used for 32 MBA programmes across 17 Symbiosis institutes, and the following programmes have additional conditions on the official eligibility page.
Programme | Additional requirement |
|---|---|
SIMS, MBA | 50% or equivalent; defence-category candidates must be a son, daughter or spouse of defence personnel |
SCMHRD, MBA (Infrastructure Development and Management) | Either a B.E., B.Tech, B.Arch or B.Plan degree from any stream, or a non-engineering bachelor's degree plus at least 12 months of work experience in infrastructure and allied industries |
SCMHRD, MBA (Business Analytics) | Graduation in any discipline plus at least two years of full-time work experience after graduation |
SIOM Nashik, MBA (Operations and Supply Chain Management) | Engineering graduate (B.E. or B.Tech) |
SSCANS, MBA (Food Technology and Food Enterprise Management) | Graduation in a listed field such as Food Technology, Hotel Management, Home Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Agriculture, Biotechnology or Food Engineering |
The general percentage requirement applies in addition to these conditions. Work experience for the SCMHRD programmes is relevant to the programme itself, so check how the institute counts it.
Dual degree programmes
Dual degree MBA programmes carry stricter conditions, including partner university requirements.
SIOM Nashik, MBA (Operations Management) with Durham University, UK
Qualification: B.E. or B.Tech in any stream from a statutory university.
Marks: At least 50%, or 45% for SC and ST candidates.
Final-year students: May apply, with admission subject to meeting the percentage in the qualifying exam.
SSBF, MBA (Banking and Finance) with Aston University, UK
Marks: At least 65% or equivalent, plus a minimum 6.5 GPA in the first semester at SSBF.
Partner requirements: Aston sets its own conditions on bachelor's marks, quantitative subject marks and English proficiency.
Work experience: Preferred but not mandatory.
SSBF, MBA (Banking and Finance) with Macquarie University, Australia
Marks: At least 65% or equivalent, plus a minimum 6.5 CGPA in semesters 1 and 2 at SSBF.
Partner requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in each band, or equivalent, and proof of funds.
Age: Applicants should be below 30 at the time of application.
Foreign degrees for the SSBF dual programmes need an AIU equivalence certificate. The partner universities set the detailed conditions, so read the full text on the official eligibility page before paying fees.
Age limit and final-year candidates
No general upper age limit is stated for the Symbiosis MBA programmes. The only age condition on the official eligibility page is for the SSBF and Macquarie dual degree, where applicants should be below 30 at the time of application.
On final-year students, official sources are not entirely uniform. The SNAP registration article says final-year candidates may apply where the selected programme permits it, while the eligibility page explicitly names only the SIOM Nashik and Durham dual degree. If you are in your final year, confirm in the SNAP Bulletin 2026 that your chosen programme accepts you, and keep in mind that admission stays conditional on meeting the required percentage.
Who may not be eligible
Below the marks cut: Graduates with less than 50% (45% for SC and ST) for programmes that use the general requirement.
Wrong background: Candidates without the engineering or listed field degree for programmes that require one.
Short of experience: Applicants without the required work experience for SCMHRD Business Analytics or the work-experience route of Infrastructure Development and Management.
Unrecognised degrees: Foreign degrees without the equivalence certificate where it is needed.
Passing SNAP is not the same as being eligible for a programme. The test fee alone does not apply you to any programme, and fees are non-refundable, so check eligibility first.
Fee and documents
The official fees are Rs. 2,550 per test and Rs. 1,000 per programme, plus applicable taxes, and both are non-refundable and non-transferable. Keep a recent passport-size colour photograph (JPG, JPEG, PNG or GIF, 10 KB to 5 MB), your mark sheets and a working mobile number and email ready for the OTP step.
