Supreme Court Personal Assistant Cut-off: Qualifying Marks and Trends

The Supreme Court Personal Assistant cut-off works differently from most recruitment exams. The Recruitment Cell of the Supreme Court of India does not publish a category-wise cut-off table. Instead, it fixes minimum qualifying marks for every stage, and candidates who clear all stages, including the interview, are empanelled in order of merit.

This page sets out the official qualifying marks from the last Personal Assistant notice (2024), what the 2025 results show, and how to set a realistic target for the next cycle. Treat past figures as a benchmark only, because the number of vacancies, applicants and the test format can change.

Official Qualifying Marks

These minimum marks come from Advertisement No. F.6/2024-SC (RC), dated 3 December 2024. They are the only official cut-off figures available for the post.

What the Last Cycle Results Show

The official notices of the 2024 to 2025 cycle give this picture of how the field narrowed:

Stage (2025)

What the official notice shows

Vacancies (2024 notice)

43 (tentative)

Typing test result (19 February 2025)

A long list of qualified candidates (the notice runs to dozens of pages) moved on to the next tests

Consolidated result (13 August 2025)

Marks out of 100 (written), 10 (computer), 100 (shorthand) and 10 (typing), with a qualified or not qualified status for each candidate

Lowest qualifying scores observed in the consolidated result

Some qualified candidates had exactly 50 out of 100 in the written test or in shorthand (observation, not an official cut-off)

Interview (18 to 22 August 2025)

134 candidates called

Interview result

Marks out of 30; the lowest score on the list was 15

Panel (valid from 16 September 2025)

126 candidates provisionally empanelled

The scores of 50 match the official minimums. No category-wise closing marks were published for the Personal Assistant post.

What Affects Your Chances

Factor

How it affects the cut-off

Vacancies

More posts mean a larger panel. The 2024 notice had 43 tentative PA posts, and the panel had 126 names.

Shorthand accuracy

The shorthand test carries 100 marks and more than 5% mistakes means failure, so it is a stage where many otherwise strong candidates can fall short.

Position in the panel

Appointment follows merit order as vacancies arise, so a higher rank gives a better chance within the panel's one-year validity.

Format changes

If the next notice adopts the newer objective test used for Senior PA in 2026, with shortlisting in a 1:10 ratio, the effective written-test cut-off may rise above 50.

How to Set Your Target

Cut-offs change every cycle with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Aim for a clear margin above the minimum, not a bare pass. These are practical targets, not official figures:

Stage

Official minimum (General)

Suggested safe target (indicative)

Objective written test

50 out of 100

70 or more

Shorthand test

50 out of 100

80 or more (up to 2% mistakes)

Computer knowledge test

5 out of 10

8 or more

Typing test

5 out of 10

Steady 45 w.p.m. with under 2% mistakes

Interview

15 out of 30

20 or more

If your written-test scores sit close to 50, focus your next few weeks on English and computer sections, where Testkart's section-wise analysis shows quick gains most clearly.
