Territorial Army Cut-off 2026: Past Scores and Target
The Territorial Army cut-off is the score you need in the computer-based test (CBT) to be called for the Service Selection Board (SSB). The Territorial Army Directorate does not announce a cut-off figure. Its notification only says it has discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all subjects, and it publishes lists of who qualified rather than a number.
Those lists still tell you a lot. For the 2025 cycle, the official results include the section-wise scores of every candidate who was not called for the SSB, which shows where the line fell. This page uses those figures as a benchmark for TAC-2026, with one caution: the 2026 paper has a different structure, so treat every number here as indicative.
Territorial Army Cut-off 2025 (OEE-2025)
The Online Entrance Exam 2025 (OEE-2025) results were published on the Indian Army website on 1 October 2025. The 2025 paper had four parts of 25 marks each (Reasoning, General Knowledge, English and Maths), for 100 marks.
OEE-2025 | Candidates called for SSB | Highest score among those not called (out of 100) | Indicative cut-off |
|---|---|---|---|
Male | 900 | 74.04 | Above 74.04 |
Female | 51 | 75.36 | Above 75.36 |
The figures in the last column are derived from the official lists, not announced by the Directorate. The male qualified list contains 900 names and the female list 51, both in alphabetical order without scores. The not-qualified lists, sorted by total score, start at 74.04 for men and 75.36 for women, so candidates called for the SSB scored above these marks.
How competitive the 2025 cycle was
Results listed: The official result lists carry roughly 22,200 male and 2,370 female entries, by our count.
Called for SSB: 951 candidates in all, about 1 in 26 of those listed.
Final merit: The final result notice of 22 May 2026 named 24 candidates (23 male, 1 female) against 19 advertised vacancies, subject to the medical examination.
The final result notice for TAC-2025 lists candidates in order of merit but does not give their marks, so there is no official final cut-off either.
Trend and What Changed for 2026
Earlier official result lists with scores are not easy to locate, so no reliable year-on-year trend can be built. What is clear is that the 2026 paper is not directly comparable with 2025.
Point | 2025 | 2026 |
|---|---|---|
Parts | Four, 25 marks each | Three: Reasoning 40, General Knowledge 30, English 30 |
Elementary Mathematics | Included | Removed |
Total marks and time | 100 marks, 2 hours | 100 marks, 2 hours |
Negative marking | One-third per wrong answer | One-third per wrong answer |
Vacancies advertised | 19 (18 male, 1 female) | 12 (11 male, 1 female) |
Fewer vacancies can mean fewer SSB calls, which would push the line up. On the other hand, the score spread depends on how candidates handle a larger reasoning section without the maths part. Expected cut-offs for 2026 published elsewhere are estimates, not official figures.
What Affects the Territorial Army Cut-off
Number of vacancies: In 2025, 951 candidates were called to the SSB for 19 advertised vacancies. With 12 vacancies in 2026, the SSB list may be smaller.
Number of applicants: More than 24,000 results were listed in 2025, so a small change in the score line moves hundreds of candidates.
Paper difficulty: A harder reasoning or GK section lowers scores across the board.
Gender-wise merit: Men and women are on separate lists, and in 2025 the female line was slightly higher than the male line.
Negative marking: Heavy guessing pulls scores down, which is why many totals cluster just below the line.
How to Set Your Target
Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.
Aim for 80 or more out of 100: A consistent 80 in full-length mocks gives you a margin of about five marks over the 2025 line.
Keep every section respectable: The Directorate can fix qualifying marks in any subject, so avoid a very low score in any one part.
Protect accuracy: At one-third negative marking, 10 wrong answers cost more than 3 marks. Target accuracy above 85% in practice.
Track by section: Reasoning carries 40 marks, so a gain of five marks there is often easier than in General Knowledge.
