UPSC CAPF Cut Off 2025: Written and Final Marks by Category

The UPSC CAPF cut off is set by the Union Public Service Commission at three points for the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination: a minimum score in Paper I, a written cut-off out of 450 for the physical tests, and a final cut-off out of 600 for the last recommended candidate. UPSC released the CAPF AC 2025 cut-off with the final result in August 2026. The 2026 cut-off will follow the 2026 final result, which is still some months away.

This page gives the latest category-wise figures, the four-year trend and a practical way to set your own target score.

The General cut-off has fallen at every stage for four straight years. The final cut-off dropped by 60 marks between 2022 and 2025, most likely because of tougher papers and strict Paper II evaluation. Do not assume the fall will continue; a single easier paper can reverse it.

What Decides the CAPF Cut Off

  • Paper difficulty: A tougher Paper I lowers the Paper I minimum and the written cut-off together.

  • Paper II evaluation: Descriptive marking is strict, and the 25 percent Paper II minimum filters out candidates who neglect writing.

  • Vacancies in each category: Each category's cut-off depends on its own seats and candidate pool. That is why the OBC final cut-off (292) was higher than General (285) in 2025.

  • Interview marks: The final cut-off adds the 150-mark interview, so it moves with interview scores as well as written marks.

How to Set Your CAPF AC Target Score

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of candidates. Treat these figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

  • Written target: Aim for about 200 to 210 out of 450. That clears every General written cut-off since 2023 with room to spare.

  • Paper I in mocks: Score 115 to 125 out of 250 consistently, well above the recent Paper I minimums.

  • Paper II: Treat 50 marks as a floor, not a goal. Aim for 85 or more out of 200.
