AAI Junior Assistant Cut Off: Previous Year CBT Marks and Target Score
The AAI Junior Assistant cut-off is the lowest CBT score at which candidates in each category were called for the second stage (document verification, medical, driving test and PET for Fire Service). It is separate from the minimum qualifying marks, which are 50 out of 100 for UR, EWS and OBC and 40 for SC and ST. Because each region of the Airports Authority of India recruits separately, cut-offs differ by region and cycle.
Not every regional result states category-wise cut-offs. The figures below are taken only from official AAI result notices that print them. Treat them as a benchmark for your target, not as the cut-off for the next cycle.

Where a result does not print cut-offs, any figure you see elsewhere is an estimate, not an official cut-off.
Cut-Off Trend
With one region printing a full category-wise table, there is not enough official data to show a year-on-year trend. What the 2025 Northern Region figures do show is a wide gap between the qualifying minimum and the real shortlisting mark: UR candidates needed 79, against a minimum of 50. The 5x shortlisting rule means the cut-off rises with the number of strong applicants, not just with paper difficulty.
What Affects the AAI Junior Assistant Cut-Off
Vacancies: more posts in a category mean more candidates called, which lowers the cut-off. The Northern cycle had 152 Fire Service posts; the North Eastern cycle had 7.
Number of applicants: each region draws only from its own states, so applicant pools vary widely.
Paper difficulty: a tougher Part A or GK section pulls scores down.
No negative marking: every candidate attempts every question, which pushes scores up.
Horizontal reservation: ex-servicemen and ex-Agniveers have separate cut-offs within the totals.
How to Set Your Target Score
Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.
UR and EWS: aim for 80 or more out of 100 in full-length mocks.
OBC, SC and ST: aim for at least 75 out of 100 in mocks.
Part A first: it decides ties after age, so build accuracy there.
Do not ignore the PET: a high CBT score is wasted if you fail the 60 out of 100 PET minimum.
