AIIMS CRE 2026 is the fifth Common Recruitment Examination (CRE-5) held by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, to fill Group B and Group C non-faculty posts. One notification covers 1,484 vacancies across AIIMS campuses and participating central institutes, which is why lakhs of nursing, technical, paramedical and clerical aspirants follow it closely. The computer-based test is over for most group codes, and the latest result was published on 29 September 2026. This page brings the notification, dates, eligibility, exam pattern, selection process, result status and preparation approach together in one place.
Latest Update on AIIMS CRE 2026
AIIMS released the CRE-5 result as an online merit list PDF on 29 September 2026 for Group Codes 20, 28, 32, 33, 48 and 58. These are the groups that appeared in the re-examination held on 31 August and 1 September 2026. Earlier, results for the Junior Engineer and several other group codes were published in August 2026.
The merit lists are PDFs on the official website, so no login is needed to open them. The scorecard, however, sits behind the candidate login. Candidates should also keep a watch on the notice board for the skill test, physical test or document verification schedule, because these follow the result for many posts.
Result and re-exam details can change group by group. Always confirm your own group code against the notice on aiimsexams.ac.in.

AIIMS CRE 2026 Notification and Vacancies
AIIMS published the detailed recruitment advertisement for CRE-5 on 13 June 2026. It lists posts by group code, so a candidate applies to a group, not to a single post. Each group has its own domain paper, eligibility, and in some cases a skill test.
The 1,484 vacancies are spread across clinical support, technical, administrative and trade posts. Typical roles include nursing officers, technicians for OT, radiology and laboratory work, pharmacists, clerks and administrative assistants, stenographers, wardens, engineers and multi-tasking staff. Post-wise vacancy counts, reservation details and institute-wise distribution are given only in the official notification, so read the PDF before choosing your groups.

AIIMS CRE 2026 Eligibility at a Glance
Eligibility is post-specific, so the notification is the final authority. These are the common points.
Nationality: Indian citizen, with the usual conditions for the posts.
Age: The minimum age is generally 18 years. The maximum varies by post, from the mid-20s to the mid-30s.
Qualification: It ranges from Matriculation and 12th pass for attendant, clerk and some technician roles to diplomas, degrees and postgraduate qualifications for engineering, dietetics, nursing and officer-level roles.
Experience: Required for several technical and officer posts, and listed as desirable for others.
Category | Upper age relaxation |
|---|---|
SC / ST | 5 years |
OBC (non-creamy layer) | 3 years |
PwBD | 10 years |
Ex-servicemen | As per Government of India rules |
Central government employees, widows and divorced women, and a few other groups get additional relaxation for some posts. The full post-wise age and qualification table is on the AIIMS CRE eligibility page.
AIIMS CRE 2026 Application Fee
Category | Fee per group |
|---|---|
General / OBC | Rs. 3,000 |
SC / ST / EWS | Rs. 2,400 |
PwBD | Exempted |
The fee is paid separately for every group a candidate applies to. It is generally non-refundable, although SC and ST candidates who appear in the exam may be refunded after results as per the notification. Published summaries differ on the EWS fee, so confirm that category in the notification.
Documents to Keep Ready
Document verification is where many otherwise qualified candidates lose their seat, so assemble the file early. Keep the originals and self-attested copies of these items.
Identity and age: a valid photo ID and the Matriculation certificate showing date of birth.
Qualification: mark sheets and degree or diploma certificates, plus any registration certificate the post requires, such as a nursing, pharmacy or dental council registration.
Experience: certificates on the employer's letterhead for posts that list experience as essential.
Category and disability: caste, non-creamy layer, EWS or PwBD certificates in the prescribed format.
NOC: candidates already in government or other service need a No Objection Certificate from the present employer.
Which Group Should You Choose?
Since each group has its own domain paper, apply where your qualification matches strongly. A diploma holder in medical laboratory technology, for instance, should look at the laboratory groups, while a graduate comfortable with office procedures and computers can look at the administrative groups. Applying to several groups means a separate form, a separate fee and often a separate paper, so choose only the groups you can realistically prepare for.
AIIMS CRE 2026 Selection Process
Selection runs in up to three stages.
Computer-Based Test: compulsory for every group. It is the stage that decides who moves ahead.
Skill, trade or physical test: applicable only to some posts. Stenographer and personal assistant posts have a stenography test, security posts have a physical standard test, and fire posts have physical tests. Most other posts are selected on the CBT alone.
Document verification: original certificates for age, qualification, category, experience and NOC are checked. A shortfall at this stage can cancel candidature even after a good score.
AIIMS CRE 2026 Exam Pattern
The test is a single 90-minute paper of 100 multiple-choice questions carrying 400 marks. It is split into five sections of 20 questions each, with 18 minutes per section. Each section locks when its time ends, and candidates cannot go back to an earlier section.
Part | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
General Knowledge, Aptitude and Computer Knowledge | 20 | 80 |
Domain subject of the group | 80 | 320 |
Total | 100 | 400 |
Every correct answer earns 4 marks and every wrong answer costs 1 mark. Unattempted questions carry no penalty. Some older summaries show a 25 and 75 split between the two parts; the 20 and 80 split is the one reported for CRE-5, so check your group's scheme in the notification. For the full breakdown, see the AIIMS CRE exam pattern page.
AIIMS CRE 2026 Syllabus at a Glance
The syllabus has a common part and a domain part. The common part tests general knowledge and current affairs, reasoning, basic quantitative aptitude and computer awareness. The domain part depends entirely on the group, for example nursing, pharmacy, radiography, civil or electrical engineering, medical records, general administration with CCS rules, or general maths and English for clerical and attendant roles.
Because the domain paper carries 80 of the 100 questions, choosing preparation material by group code matters more than general reading. The topic-wise and post-wise breakdown is on the AIIMS CRE syllabus page.
AIIMS CRE 2026 Qualifying Marks
Category | Minimum qualifying percentage |
|---|---|
UR / EWS | 40% |
OBC | 35% |
SC / ST | 30% |
These are minimum qualifying figures, not selection cut-offs. The marks needed to reach the next stage depend on vacancies, reservation and how difficult the paper was for that group. Past trends and group-wise figures are collected on the AIIMS CRE cut-off page.
How to Check the AIIMS CRE Result
Open the official AIIMS examination portal, aiimsexams.ac.in.
Go to the result or recruitment notices section and find the CRE-5 result for your group code.
Open the merit list PDF and search for your roll number.
For the scorecard, log in with your candidate ID and password.
Download and save both for the verification stage.
A scorecard usually shows personal details, marks, category and qualifying status. After the result, keep the originals of your certificates ready, along with category, age, experience and NOC documents where relevant.
AIIMS CRE 2026 Salary
CRE posts are paid on the 7th Pay Commission matrix, with levels running from Level 2 for entry-level roles such as lower division clerks and multi-tasking staff, through Level 4 and Level 5 for many technician, pharmacist and upper division clerk posts, to Level 7 and Level 8 for engineers, nursing officers and senior nursing officers. Exact levels, allowances and posting rules are given post by post in the notification and may vary by institute.
Participating Institutes
Recruitment is for AIIMS institutes across the country, including Bathinda, Bhopal, Bilaspur, Deoghar, Gorakhpur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Mangalagiri, Nagpur, Patna, Rae Bareli, Raipur, Rajkot and Rishikesh, along with other central institutions named in the notification. Candidates can usually indicate preferences, but posting depends on the vacancy position.
How to Prepare for AIIMS CRE
Start with your group code: Note the domain subject and language of your paper. That one decision decides about 80 percent of your preparation.
Treat the 20 common questions as scoring marks: Current affairs, basic maths, reasoning and computer fundamentals can be revised in short daily sessions.
Practise section-wise timing: With 18 minutes per section and no going back, learn to finish 20 questions in that window and to skip a long question quickly.
Respect negative marking: A wrong answer costs 1 mark, so attempt a question only when you can rule out at least two options.
Solve previous papers early: They show the difficulty level, the repeated topics and how technical the domain section gets.
Take full-length mocks in CBT format: Review each attempt to find weak topics and wasted time.
AIIMS CRE 2026 is a large, group-wise recruitment where the official notification and your own group code matter more than general advice. The result is out for the latest group codes, and the next stage depends on your post. Keep your documents ready, track the official notices, and use full-length mock tests to prepare for the skill test or the next recruitment cycle.
