AIIMS CRE Cut Off 2026: Qualifying Marks, Category-Wise Criteria and How to Read the Merit List

The first question after any AIIMS CRE paper is about the cut-off, and the honest answer is that there is no single number. AIIMS CRE cut-off marks are decided separately for each group code and category, so the figure that matters depends on the group you applied to. This page explains how the AIIMS CRE cut off 2026 works, what is officially fixed, and how to use your mock-test scores to judge where you stand.

Qualifying Marks and Cut-Off Are Not the Same Thing

Qualifying marks are a floor fixed in the notification. The cut-off is the score at which a group actually closes, and it is usually higher. Under the CRE-5 Detailed Recruitment Advertisement, the minimum percentages are as follows.

Category

Minimum percentage

Marks out of 400

UR / EWS

40%

160

OBC

35%

140

SC / ST

30%

120

PwBD (any category)

120

Some third-party pages quote a higher figure for unreserved candidates. Confirm the percentage for your group in the official notification before you plan around it.

What Decides the AIIMS CRE Cut-Off

  • Vacancies and reservation: Each group has its own seats and category split, so a group with few posts closes at a higher score.

  • Paper difficulty: A harder domain paper pulls scores down for that group only.

  • Normalisation: When the test runs in several shifts, AIIMS normalises scores, so raw marks and final marks can differ.

  • Stage limits: For posts with a skill test, AIIMS may call only a limited number of candidates, which raises the effective cut-off.

AIIMS CRE 2026 Result and Cut-Off Status

AIIMS published the latest CRE-5 results on 29 September 2026 for Group Codes 20, 28, 32, 33, 48 and 58, as group-wise PDFs on aiimsexams.ac.in. Results for some other group codes were released earlier. Testkart does not publish a group-wise cut-off table until the figures are checked against the official PDF. Numbers on other websites are mostly estimates, so treat them as rough guides only.

How to Read the Group-Wise Merit List

  1. Open the PDF for your own group code, not a general result link.

  2. Search for your roll number and note your category and marks.

  3. Compare your marks with the lowest qualified marks listed for your category.

  4. Check the notice board for the skill test, physical test or document verification schedule that follows.

Estimating Your Position From Mock Scores

Your score is 4 times the correct answers minus the wrong answers. The table shows how attempts change the result against the 160-mark UR floor.

These are illustrations, not predicted cut-offs. A fair method is to average your last five mocks for your own group, then aim well above the qualifying floor instead of just clearing it
