Engineering Entrance

AP EAPCET

AP EAPCET is an entrance examination taken by students preparing for undergraduate engineering admissions.

AP EAPCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) is the state-level entrance test for admission to B.E/B.Tech, B.Pharm, Pharm.D, agriculture, horticulture, veterinary and allied undergraduate courses in Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) runs it, and a state university conducts the test on its behalf. For the 2026 cycle this was Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada. Many students still search for it by its older name, AP EAMCET.

This guide is written for students preparing for AP EAPCET 2027. It explains where the new cycle stands, who can apply, the fee, the exam pattern, how ranks are worked out and what happens after the result. Since the 2027 notification has not been released yet, the 2026 official schedule and rules are used as the reference, and every figure that can change is marked.

AP EAPCET 2027: Latest Update

As of mid-October 2026, APSCHE has not announced the AP EAPCET 2027 notification, the conducting university or the exam dates. The 2026 cycle is complete: the result was declared on 1 July 2026 and counselling ran into September 2026.

For planning, the 2026 timeline is the best guide. Last year the notification came out in early February, applications closed in late March without a late fee, and the exam was held in the middle of May. If APSCHE follows a similar pattern, students should expect the 2027 notification in the first quarter of 2027. This is an estimate, not an official date.

One change is worth watching closely. The AP Board of Intermediate Education moved to an NCERT-based syllabus for first-year students in 2025-26 and for second-year students in 2026-27. Students writing AP EAPCET 2027 are the first batch to complete both years under this syllabus, so the 2027 EAPCET syllabus may be revised. Check the official syllabus PDF as soon as it is released.

AP EAPCET Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is checked at the time of counselling and admission, so make sure you meet every condition before you apply.

Nationality and Local Status

  • Nationality: Indian nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders can apply.

  • Local or non-local status: Candidates must satisfy the local or non-local status rules notified by the Andhra Pradesh government for that admission year. Seat reservation follows these rules.

Educational Qualification

  • Engineering stream: Intermediate (10+2) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from the AP Board of Intermediate Education or an equivalent board. A Diploma in Engineering from the AP State Board of Technical Education and Training (or equivalent) is also accepted.

  • Agriculture and Pharmacy stream: Intermediate with the course-specific subject groups, mainly Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Pharm.D also accepts a relevant pharmacy diploma.

  • Minimum marks: At least 45% in the qualifying subjects taken together, or 40% for reserved categories.

  • Appearing students: Students in the final year of Intermediate can apply. Their rank is counted only after they pass.

Steps to Apply Online

  1. Visit cets.apsche.ap.gov.in and open the AP EAPCET section.

  2. Pay the registration fee online and note the payment reference.

  3. Fill in the application form with personal, academic, category and local-status details.

  4. Upload your photograph and signature in the specified format.

  5. Choose your stream (E, AP or both) and test centre preferences.

  6. Submit the form and print the filled application for your records.

A short correction window opens after the last date. In 2026, candidates could correct details such as name, date of birth, category and qualifying exam hall ticket number with supporting documents. Keep your SSC memo, Intermediate hall ticket and caste certificate ready in case you need to make changes.

Each question has four options with one correct answer. The test runs for 3 hours, and in 2026 the sessions were 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

What This Means for You

  • You have about 67 seconds per question: 180 minutes for 160 questions leaves little time for long calculations, so speed with standard methods matters.

  • Attempt every question: There is no negative marking, so an unanswered question can only cost you a mark.

  • Mathematics decides most engineering ranks: It carries half the paper, and it is also the first subject used to break ties.

  • Biology is half the AP paper: Botany and Zoology together carry 80 marks, so strong NCERT-level biology is the base for agriculture and pharmacy aspirants.

AP EAPCET Syllabus Overview

The syllabus is based on the first- and second-year Intermediate curriculum. APSCHE publishes it as a separate PDF for each stream.

Admit Card, Answer Key and Result

  • Hall ticket: Released on the official website about two weeks before the exam. In 2026 it could also be downloaded through WhatsApp. Carry a printed copy and a valid photo ID to the centre.

  • Response sheet and answer key: After the exam, APSCHE publishes master question papers, preliminary keys and individual response sheets. Objections are accepted for a short window, with a fee of Rs. 300 per question that is refunded only if the objection is accepted.

  • Result and rank card: The result shows your EAPCET marks, Intermediate weightage and rank. Download the rank card from the official website using your registration number and hall ticket number.

How AP EAPCET Ranks Are Calculated

Your rank does not depend on the entrance test alone. It is worked out in three steps.

  1. Qualify the test: You need at least 25% of the maximum marks, which is 40 out of 160. SC and ST candidates have no minimum qualifying mark, but their admission is limited to reserved seats.

  2. Normalisation: Because the exam runs over several sessions, scores are normalised to adjust for differences in paper difficulty. APSCHE publishes the normalisation procedure on the official website.

  3. Combined score: 75% weightage goes to your normalised EAPCET marks and 25% to your Intermediate marks in the relevant group subjects.

If two candidates have the same combined score, the tie is broken by total EAPCET marks, then marks in Mathematics (Engineering) or Biology (AP), and then Physics. If the tie still remains, both get the same rank and the older candidate is preferred during admission. In short, your Intermediate board marks still matter, so do not ignore board preparation.

AP EAPCET 2026 Result Highlights

Stream

Candidates qualified

Pass percentage

Engineering

1,82,317

70.52%

Agriculture and Pharmacy

63,546

89.59%

These figures were reported at the time of the 1 July 2026 result announcement. They show that qualifying is within reach for most candidates; the real competition is for a rank good enough for your preferred college and branch.

Counselling and Seat Allotment

Qualified candidates take part in online counselling run by the state admissions authority. It usually opens a few weeks after the result and runs in phases. In 2026, the final phase took place in September.

  • Registration and fee: Register on the counselling portal and pay the processing fee. The fee is paid only once, even if you take part in more than one phase.

  • Certificate verification: Upload or verify your rank card, SSC and Intermediate memos, study certificates, and caste, income and local-status certificates as applicable.

  • Web options: Choose colleges and courses in order of preference. Your rank, category and local status decide what you are allotted.

  • Allotment and reporting: Download the allotment order and report to the college within the given dates, or your seat is cancelled.

How to Prepare for AP EAPCET 2027

AP EAPCET rewards speed and breadth more than very deep problem solving. The plan below works for most students who are also preparing for their Intermediate exams.

  1. October to December: Finish the second-year topics in your Intermediate textbooks and revise first-year chapters alongside. Make short formula sheets for each subject.

  2. January to February: Start topic-wise tests of 30 to 40 questions. Keep an error log of every wrong or slow question and revise it weekly.

  3. March (board exams): Focus on your board papers, since Intermediate marks carry 25% weightage in the rank.

  4. April to May: Take full-length 160-question tests in the CBT format, at least three a week, and analyse each one on the same day.
