APPSC Group 2 Cut Off: Qualifying Marks and How to Set Your Target
The APPSC Group 2 cut off for the 2026 cycle does not exist yet, because the Screening Test has not been held. The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission released Brief Notification No. 37/2026 on 13 October 2026, applications run from 10 November 2026 to 30 November 2026, and the Screening Test date will come in the detailed notification.
This page separates what is official from what is guesswork, shows the one set of qualifying marks that the notification does state, and explains how to set a target score for your own preparation. We do not list estimated cut-offs as if they were official figures.

Previous Cycle Figures
The previous Group-II Services recruitment ran under a different notification. Published cut-off figures for that cycle vary from page to page, and many of them are expected or estimated marks rather than the Commission's own numbers, so we have not reproduced them here. If you want a benchmark, use the result and cut-off notices on psc.ap.gov.in and treat them as a reference only.
Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.
What Affects the Cut-off
Paper difficulty: A harder Screening Test lowers raw scores, and the cut-off follows.
Number of vacancies: This cycle's 686 vacancies are provisional and can change after departments confirm.
Number of applicants: More candidates competing for a post raises the competition level.
Negative marking: One-third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer, which pulls scores down for guess-heavy attempts.
Category and post: Different categories and posts can see different cut-offs, so check the one that applies to you.
How to Set Your Target
Work backwards from the scoring rule: With 150 questions for 150 marks and a one-third penalty, 100 correct and 20 wrong gives about 93 marks. Decide how many questions you can answer with confidence.
Set a margin: Aim for a score well above the highest cut-off you find for any past cycle, not equal to it.
Track accuracy, not only score: If accuracy falls below roughly 80 percent on attempted questions, negative marking will eat the gains.
Watch subject balance: The Screening Test has five subjects of 30 marks each, so find the weakest one early.
Prepare for the CPT: The qualifying marks are fixed, and many candidates lose time here by skipping practice.
The easiest way to measure yourself against that target is to take timed tests in the same pattern. You can attempt APPSC Group 2 mock tests on Testkart and compare your attempts, accuracy and sectional scores across several tests, and read the APPSC Group 2 exam pattern for the marking rules.
Official results and notices will appear on psc.ap.gov.in.
