APPSC Group 2 Eligibility 2026: Qualification, Age and Conditions
APPSC Group 2 eligibility for the 2026 cycle depends mainly on the post you choose, because the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission sets different degree requirements for different posts. Brief Notification No. 37/2026, dated 13 October 2026, gives the educational qualification for all 12 categories of posts. It does not yet give the age limit, relaxations or fee, which are due in the detailed notification on or before 10 November 2026.
This page covers what is confirmed, what is still pending and how to check your own case. The date of the detailed notification is the crucial date for all aspects, including educational qualification, so check your documents against that date and not against the application date.

Read the detailed notification for the exact wording before you rely on this proviso.
Computer Requirement for Accountant Posts
Senior Accountant and Junior Accountant candidates need the degree above and one of the following:
Certificate course: A pass in any one of Office Automation, PC Maintenance and Trouble Shooting, or Web Designing, conducted by the Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P.
Computer degree: A degree such as BCA, B.Sc (Computers), B.Com (Computers), B.A. (Computers), or B.Tech/B.E. with Computer Science or Information Technology, or an equivalent examination from a recognised university.
Age Limit
The brief notification says the age, community and other details will be available in the detailed notification, so there is no confirmed age limit or category-wise relaxation yet. Some third-party pages quote an upper age limit, but the figures differ between them and the Commission has not confirmed any. Treat those numbers as unverified until the detailed notification is published, and check the reference date for age on that document.
Other Conditions
Physical requirements: Prohibition and Excise Sub-Inspector has physical requirements set out in the detailed notification, so read these before applying.
Online application only: Applications sent in any mode other than the prescribed online mode are not entertained.
Vacancies are provisional: The number of posts can change after departments confirm, which can change your odds but not your eligibility.
Nationality, attempts and other rules: These are not mentioned in the brief notification. Check the detailed notification.
Who Should Wait Before Applying
Final-year students: The qualification is checked as on the date of the detailed notification, so a result that comes later may not count. Confirm the rule in the detailed notification.
Applicants near an age boundary: Wait for the confirmed age limit and the reference date.
Accountant post applicants: If you do not yet have the computer certificate or a computer degree, check whether you can obtain it in time.
Law or finance-specific posts: Assistant Section Officer (Law) and (Finance) need specific degree disciplines, so a degree in another subject does not qualify.
Fee and Documents
The application fee is not stated in the brief notification and will be in the detailed notification. Keep your degree certificates, community certificate and identity proof ready, and match the names and dates exactly with your application.
