Assam Rifles Tradesman Syllabus 2026: CBT and Trade Skill Test Topics

The Assam Rifles Tradesman syllabus is not published as a topic-wise list. The Directorate General Assam Rifles names the stages of the 2026 cycle (a Computer-Based Test of 100 marks, a qualifying trade skill test and physical tests) but, in the material we reviewed, does not say which topics the CBT will cover.

That is why this page works as a checklist, not an official syllabus. The CBT topics below follow the four-subject structure used in earlier Assam Rifles Technical and Tradesmen written tests, and the trade section is built around the kind of work your ITI or diploma already covers. Use it to plan study time, and confirm the paper details on your admit card.

What the Notification Confirms

Only a few points are firm. Everything else on this page is a working assumption, and we have labelled it that way.

• CBT marks: The Computer-Based Test is for 100 marks, with qualifying percentages of 35% for General and EWS and 33% for SC, ST and OBC.

• Trade skill test: It is qualifying in nature and has no merit marks.

• No interview: The stages reported do not include a personal interview.

• Not stated: The reports reviewed do not give subject names, question count or duration for the 2026 CBT.

Older pages may still show the earlier offline written test. Follow the official notice and your admit card if they differ from what you read elsewhere.

The last row is a practical suggestion because the force recruits for service in the North-East. It is not an official topic.

Trade Skill Test Scope

The trade skill test checks practical ability in the trade you applied for, such as electrical fitting, vehicle repair, welding or masonry. There is no published topic list, so the best preparation is your own trade knowledge.

• Tools and safety: Identify tools, measuring instruments and safety rules from your ITI or diploma course.

• Standard jobs: Rehearse the jobs you did most often in training, working to time and finishing neatly.

• Trade theory: Revise definitions, specifications and basic calculations linked to your trade.

Because it carries no marks, the aim is simply to pass. Do not let it eat into CBT preparation time, but do practise it in the final fortnight.

Physical Tests and Medical

There is no syllabus for these stages, only standards. The run is a qualifying 5 km in 24 minutes (1.6 km in 7 minutes in Ladakh), and the medical follows the force's prescribed guidelines. Details of height, chest and age are on the eligibility page.

How to Cover the Syllabus

A ten-week plan works for most candidates who already hold a trade qualification. Adjust it to the rally date.

1. Weeks 1 to 3: Cover basic arithmetic, grammar and verbal reasoning, and begin a daily reading habit.

2. Weeks 4 to 6: Move to speed topics, vocabulary, figure-based reasoning and static general knowledge. Add current affairs notes.

3. Weeks 7 to 8: Take topic-wise and sectional tests and fix recurring errors.

4. Weeks 9 to 10: Attempt full-length timed tests, review each one the same day and revisit your error log. Rehearse trade tasks.
