Bank of Baroda PO Eligibility 2026: Age, Degree, Relaxation

Bank of Baroda PO eligibility is simple on paper: a graduation degree in any discipline and an age between 20 and 30 years on the reference date, with relaxation for reserved categories. In the latest cycle, Bank of Baroda recruits Probationary Officers through the IBPS PO/MT process, so the rules come from the IBPS notification and not from the older bank-run Manipal route.

This page covers the degree rule, the age limit and relaxation table, nationality and other conditions, and the common reasons candidates are rejected. The values below are as reported for the CRP PO/MT-XVI cycle. Read them with the official notification, because a small detail such as the result date can decide your eligibility.

Educational Qualification

You must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification. There is no restriction on the stream, so arts, science, commerce, engineering and law graduates are all eligible.

  • Result deadline: Your final result must be declared on or before the date in the notification. A reported date is 21 July 2026. Candidates waiting for final results by that date cannot apply.

  • Proof of result: Keep your mark sheet or provisional certificate ready. It shows the date of the result declaration, which is checked later.

  • Percentage and CGPA: If your university gives a CGPA, convert it to a percentage using the university's formula. Secondary reports say fractions are dropped, so 59.99 percent counts as below 60 percent. Confirm the rule in the notification.

No minimum percentage is reported for the current route, but the older Manipal route required 55 percent marks. See the comparison below.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The age limit is 20 to 30 years as on the reference date in the notification. If the date is 1 July 2026, you must be born on or after 2 July 1996 and on or before 1 July 2006.

OBC (non-creamy layer)

Persons with benchmark disabilities

Ex-servicemen and commissioned officers (minimum 5 years of service)

5 years

These figures are as reported for this cycle. Other relaxations, such as for certain widows or for specified periods in some regions, are listed in the notification. The relaxation applies only if you hold a valid category certificate in the required format.

A quick check: take the reference date, subtract your date of birth and see whether the result falls in the 20 to 30 years range after adding any relaxation to the upper limit.

Nationality and Other Conditions

  • Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen. Certain subjects of Nepal and Bhutan, and persons of Indian origin in the categories listed in the notification, can apply with the eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

  • Attempts: We found no limit on the number of attempts in the sources we checked. Confirm this in the notification.

  • Medical and character: Selection is subject to the bank's medical fitness and verification norms at the time of joining.

  • One application: You apply once for the common process. Duplicate registrations can lead to rejection.

Older Manipal Route Versus the Current Route

Many older pages still quote eligibility from the bank-run Manipal route. The two do not match, so check which one a page describes.
