Bank of India PO Cut Off: Previous Year Marks and Trends

The Bank of India PO cut off is the set of qualifying and selection marks used in the IBPS PO process, because Bank of India fills its Probationary Officer posts through the IBPS Common Recruitment Process. IBPS declares a Prelims cut-off to select candidates for Mains, a Mains cut-off to select candidates for the interview, and a final merit score for allotment to banks.

This page gives the previous cut-offs for each stage, explains what moves them and shows how to set a target. The figures below are as reported from IBPS score documents and allotment notices by exam-news sites, so verify them on the official site. Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

Bank of India PO Prelims cut off

Prelims marks are out of 100 and are used only for qualifying. These are the category-wise overall cut-offs reported for the last two cycles. Sectional cut-offs also apply, and they are not shown here.

Prelims for the 2026 cycle was held on 22 and 23 August 2026, and the result was reported on 23 September 2026. We have not verified an official 2026 cut-off, so use the IBPS result notice rather than the expected ranges that some pages publish.

Bank of India PO Mains cut off

The Mains cut-off for the 2024 and 2025 cycles was out of 225 marks, made of 200 objective marks and 25 descriptive marks. The 2026 Mains has the same total of 225 marks, but its objective sections were redesigned, so earlier cut-offs are only a rough guide.

Final merit marks

The final merit score is out of 100, made from Mains and Interview in an 80:20 ratio. The table shows the lowest combined score among candidates allotted in the IBPS allotment notices. These are not qualifying thresholds, and the cut-off for a particular bank can be different.

Earlier Bank of India PO cut-offs (2023 cycle)

Before the current route, Bank of India ran its own PO recruitment in 2022-23 with an online exam, group discussion and interview, followed by a banking diploma. The aggregate cut-off marks reported for provisionally selected Credit Officer and IT Officer candidates are below. The maximum marks are not stated in the source we used, and the process was different, so use these for rough context only.

What affects the cut-off

  • Difficulty level: A harder paper lowers the marks needed, and an easier one raises them.

  • Vacancies: Bank of India's share is reported as 500 posts for 2026 and is indicative. More vacancies across banks usually mean a lower cut-off.

  • Number of applicants: A larger pool makes the competition tighter.

  • Pattern changes: The new Mains pattern makes the 2024 and 2025 figures less reliable as predictors.

How to set your Bank of India PO target

  1. Add a margin: Aim at least 8 to 10 marks above the last Prelims cut-off for your category, so a hard paper does not end your attempt.

  2. Clear every section: Prelims has sectional cut-offs, so a balanced score beats one very strong section.

  3. Benchmark in mocks: Track your accuracy and attempts in each section across at least five full mocks.

  4. Plan for Mains weight: Mains carries the main part of final merit, so keep building speed in Data Analysis and awareness after Prelims.

Official result and cut-off notices are published on the IBPS website.
