BHU Nursing Officer Study Notes

A practical guide to short, revision-ready notes for the nursing and aptitude parts of the paper.

Good notes for the BHU Nursing Officer exam are short, tested and easy to revise. The paper has 30 nursing questions and 20 aptitude and awareness questions, so you need notes for both. Since BHU does not publish a topic-wise syllabus that we could verify, your notes should follow the nursing curriculum you already know, supported by the two parts of the paper.

How to Organise Your Notes

  • One page per topic: If a topic needs more, you have not yet reduced it to what matters.

  • Formula and value sheet: Keep dose formulas and normal lab values on a single sheet.

  • Error log: Record each wrong answer from mocks with the correct answer and the reason.

  • Monthly current affairs: Add health policy, schemes and key events once a month.

A Simple Note Format

For each topic, write four lines: the definition or key fact, the signs or steps in order, the nursing priority, and one mnemonic or example. For medicines, use a small table with the drug, class, use, main side effect and nursing check. This format fits on one page and is quick to scan during revision.

Revision Schedule

Revise new notes after one day, one week and one month. In the final two weeks, use only your short notes, the formula sheet and the error log. Do not start new books at that stage.
