CISF ASI Cut Off: Qualifying Marks and How to Set Your Target
CISF ASI cut off is a topic where many websites publish confident numbers that the force has not released. As far as we could verify, CISF does not publish a category-wise selection cut-off for the ASI written test. What the notices do give are qualifying marks, which are the minimum scores needed to stay in the process.
This page separates the two. It shows the qualifying thresholds reported for ASI (Stenographer) and ASI (Executive) LDCE, explains what moves the final merit line and helps you set a target that clears it with room to spare. We could not open the official recruitment site while preparing the page, so confirm the figures there.
Qualifying marks reported for CISF ASI
Route and cycle | Category | Qualifying mark |
|---|---|---|
ASI (Steno), last reported cycle | UR, EWS and ex-servicemen | 35% of 100 marks, which is 35 |
ASI (Steno), last reported cycle | SC, ST and OBC | 33% of 100 marks, which is 33 |
ASI (Exe) LDCE, 2020 cycle | General | 50% overall (100 of 200) and 45% in each section |
ASI (Exe) LDCE, 2020 cycle | SC and ST | 45% overall (90 of 200) with the same sectional rule as reported |
These are not previous-year selection cut-offs. No official final cut-off for either route has been verified, and we do not show estimated numbers as if they were official.
What affects the merit line
Vacancies: more posts usually mean a lower closing score, and fewer posts push it up.
Paper difficulty: a harder paper lowers raw scores across the board.
Number of applicants: a large pool for ASI (Stenographer) raises competition at the top.
Category-wise merit: merit lists are prepared by category against the vacancies reserved for each.
Later stages: physical, skill and medical stages can remove candidates, which changes who is finally selected.
How to set your target score
Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat the qualifying marks as a floor and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.
Steno: aim for at least 70 out of 100 in mock tests, with no section below 15 out of 25.
LDCE: aim for 130 or more out of 200, with every section above 35 out of 50 so that the sectional rule is safe.
Accuracy first: if there is no negative marking, attempt all questions and spend spare time on revision.
