CRPF Constable Eligibility 2026: Age, Qualification and Physical Standards

CRPF Constable eligibility for the 2026 Technical & Tradesmen and Pioneer recruitment depends on four things: your age, your Class 10 qualification plus any trade requirement, your physical standards, and your domicile State/UT. The Central Reserve Police Force set these rules in its notification dated 8 April 2026 and amended the reckoning date on 17 April 2026.

The key date is now 1 August 2026, for both age and educational qualification. The crucial date for SC, ST, OBC and EWS status is 19 May 2026, the closing date of applications. This page explains each condition with the official numbers, the relaxations, and the common reasons candidates are found ineligible. Constable (GD) posts in CRPF come through the SSC Constable (GD) exam, which has its own eligibility rules, summarised near the end.

Weight must be proportionate to height and age as per medical standards. Chest is not measured for women.

Medical and eyesight

  • Driver and Motor Mechanic Vehicle: Distance vision of 6/6 in the better eye and 6/9 in the worse eye without glasses, and no visual correction of any kind.

  • Other posts: The same distance vision without correction, though glasses are allowed for near vision only.

  • General fitness: No knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins or squint, and fit to serve in high altitude and border areas.

Nationality, domicile and other conditions

  • Citizenship: Only citizens of India can apply.

  • Domicile: Technical & Tradesmen vacancies are allotted State/UT-wise. At document verification you must show a Domicile or Permanent Residence Certificate of the State/UT you chose in the form. A different State means immediate cancellation.

  • Assam and Arunachal Pradesh: These States do not issue domicile certificates, so candidates from them do not need one, but their residence is verified through district authorities.

  • Pioneer posts: Filled on an all-India basis, so any State/UT candidate can apply.

  • Posting: Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India.

Who is not eligible

  • Persons with disabilities: The posts are not identified as suitable for any PwD category.

  • Marriage rule: A person who has married someone with a living spouse, or who has a living spouse and married again, is not eligible unless the Central Government grants an exemption.

  • Late results: Candidates whose Class 10 result was declared after 1 August 2026.

  • Missing trade requirement: For example, a Driver without a Heavy Transport Vehicle licence, or a Motor Mechanic Vehicle applicant without the ITI or apprenticeship certificate and experience.

  • Multiple applications: Submitting more than one application leads to rejection of all of them.

Check your eligibility in five steps

  1. Pick your post: Decide whether you are applying as Driver, Motor Mechanic Vehicle, another trade, or Pioneer, because age and qualification rules differ.

  2. Check your date of birth: Compare the date on your Matriculation certificate with the window for your post, adding any category relaxation.

  3. Check your trade proof: Make sure your licence, ITI, apprenticeship or experience certificate was in hand by 1 August 2026.

  4. Check your domicile: Confirm you have a Domicile or Permanent Residence Certificate of the State/UT you will choose.

  5. Check your measurements: Measure your height and chest against the standard or relaxed table that applies to you.

Fee and documents

The fee was Rs. 100 per post for male General, EWS and OBC candidates. SC, ST, ex-servicemen and all women were exempt. Documents are checked at document verification, so keep originals and self-attested copies ready.
