HPSC HCS Mock Test 2026: Online Tests and Practice Guide
Practise in the revised Prelims pattern and learn from every attempt.
HPSC HCS mock test practice matters more under the revised pattern. Prelims is now worth 400 marks across two objective papers, each wrong answer costs 0.25 mark, and every skipped question must be marked with option E. These rules are easy to read and hard to follow under time pressure, so timed practice makes a real difference.
This page explains which tests to take, how to use them through your preparation and how to learn from each attempt, for the Haryana Civil Services (Executive Branch) and Other Allied Services Examination.

The pattern to practise in
Set every test to the current rules, not to the older four-paper Mains pattern that some pages still show.
Paper I (General Studies): 200 marks, 2 hours, and it decides who is shortlisted for Mains.
Paper II (CSAT): 200 marks, 2 hours, qualifying at 33 percent.
Marking: 0.25 mark is deducted for each wrong answer, and option E marks a skipped question.
Blank rule: Leaving more than 10 percent of questions unmarked can lead to disqualification.
Confirm them in the notification on hpsc.gov.in.
How to use mock tests
Foundation phase: Take one short topic-wise test a week to see where you stand. Ignore the score for now.
Practice phase: Add sectional tests and one Haryana-focused test each week, and begin daily Mains-style answers.
Simulation phase: In the last two months, attempt full-length papers in the real time slots and darken option E automatically for skipped questions. Write two Mains papers in a day to match the actual schedule.
How to analyse a mock test
A test helps only when you study the result. Give the review as much time as the attempt.
Wrong answers: Sort them into knowledge gaps and careless errors. Each one costs 0.25 mark.
Slow questions: Note which sections eat your time and practise elimination there.
Skipped but solvable: Questions you could have solved with one more minute show where speed needs work.
Blank count: Check that every unattempted question carries option E.
Track accuracy, attempts and time per section across tests. A steady rise in accuracy matters more than one high score.
