JKSSB Accounts Assistant Syllabus: Subject-Wise Topics

The JKSSB Accounts Assistant syllabus covers eight subjects tested in one 120-mark objective paper. Accountancy and General Knowledge with a focus on Jammu and Kashmir carry 30 marks each, and six smaller subjects carry 10 marks each. Knowing this split is the first step to planning your study time.

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) said in the advertisement that the syllabus would be notified separately on its website. The topic lists below follow the syllabus as reported by secondary sources. Use them as a working checklist and match them with the official PDF on jkssb.nic.in before you finalise your plan.

The split is tentative until you match it with the official notice.

Key changes to know

  • Single written test: There is one objective paper followed by document verification, so there is no separate descriptive or skill stage to prepare for.

  • Syllabus notified separately: The advertisement did not carry topic lists. Rely on the syllabus notice and not on guesses from older cycles.

  • Conflicting split online: Some pages show a larger Computers section or merge Maths and Statistics. Follow the official notice.

  • English only: The paper is set in English, so build comfort with accounting and economics terms in English.

General Knowledge with special reference to J&K

This section has 30 questions. It mixes general awareness with a strong Jammu and Kashmir component, so a student who reads only national current affairs will lose easy marks.

General awareness topics

  • Current events: National and international events of the last 12 months.

  • Geography: World and Indian political and physical divisions, major rivers and lakes, weather, climate and crops, census and demography.

  • Environment: Ecology, biodiversity and environmental issues.

  • Transport and communication: Basic facts and recent developments.

Jammu and Kashmir topics

  • History and economy: Key periods of J&K history, the economy of the UT, agriculture, horticulture and crafts.

  • Geography: Rivers, lakes, passes, flora and fauna.

  • Heritage and tourism: Culture, festivals, tourist destinations and heritage sites.

  • Constitutional position: The J&K Reorganisation Act, 2019.
