State Government Recruitment

MP Patwari

MP Patwari is a recruitment exam for the recruitment of Patwaris (village revenue officers), relevant to candidates preparing for state government department recruitment.

MP Patwari Study Material

MP Patwari is the recruitment for Patwari posts in the Revenue Department of Madhya Pradesh, conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB, earlier known as MP Vyapam or MPPEB). A Patwari keeps village-level land records, so it is one of the most sought-after graduate-level jobs in the state. The latest cycle is the 2026 recruitment, advertised in the rule book of the Group-02 Sub-Group-04 Combined Recruitment Test 2026.

The 2026 cycle is different from earlier ones. All 200 Patwari posts this time are a special recruitment for candidates with disabilities, so candidates without a qualifying disability certificate cannot apply for Patwari in this cycle. This page covers the 2026 dates, vacancies, eligibility including the CPCT rule, fee, exam pattern, syllabus, selection and pay, and how to prepare, with links to the detailed page on each topic.

MP Patwari Notification 2026 Overview

MPESB opened applications on 4 August 2026 for the Group-02 Sub-Group-04 Combined Recruitment Test 2026. The rule book has a separate chapter for the Patwari special recruitment, under which all 200 Patwari posts are reserved for persons with disabilities and spread district-wise across Madhya Pradesh. The other posts in the same combined test, such as Assistant Sub-Inspector and Panchayat Coordination Officer, follow their own chapter and eligibility rules.

The previous large Patwari recruitment ran in the 2022 to 2023 cycle, with the online exam held from 15 March to 26 April 2023. That result, declared on 30 June 2023, was put on hold for an inquiry and cleared in early 2024, after which district counselling took place. Older pages that still describe that cycle (thousands of posts open to all categories) do not apply to 2026.

MP Patwari Vacancy 2026

The rule book lists 200 Patwari posts across Madhya Pradesh districts, all under horizontal reservation for persons with disabilities. Reports of the district table give the following split by disability group. Treat it as indicative and check your district and category in the official post table before you rely on it.

Disability group

Posts (indicative)

Hearing impairment

94

Locomotor disability (including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, muscular dystrophy)

45

Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, mental illness, multiple disabilities

61

Total

200

Candidates with visual impairment (blindness) are not eligible for Patwari posts under the state order cited in the rule book. Headlines that mention around 2,106 posts refer to the other posts in the combined test, not to Patwari.

MP Patwari Eligibility 2026

Educational qualification

Candidates need a graduation degree from a recognised university. They also need a CPCT (Computer Proficiency Certification Test) scorecard covering computer proficiency and Hindi typing. A selected candidate who has not cleared CPCT must pass it within the three-year probation period, or the appointment can be cancelled.

Age limit

Candidates must be 18 to 45 years old as on 1 January 2026. Under the general rule, the open-category maximum is 40 years and the relaxed maximum is 45 years for categories such as persons with disabilities, women, SC, ST, OBC and state government employees. Since every Patwari post this cycle is for candidates with disabilities, 45 years is the working upper limit, and combined relaxations cannot take it above 45.

Common reasons for rejection include applying without an eligible disability certificate, a wrong category or domicile claim, and missing employment portal registration.

MP Patwari Exam Pattern 2026

The rule book sets one online paper of 200 marks with two parts.

Part

Subjects

Marks

Part A

General Science, General Hindi, General English, General Mathematics

100

Part B

General Knowledge and Aptitude, General Computer Knowledge, General Reasoning Ability, General Management

100

Total

8 subjects

200

The 2026 shift timings give 2 hours of answering time. The rule book text reviewed does not state the number of questions or a negative marking rule, so confirm both from the instructions on your admit card. In the 2023 cycle, the paper was reported as 200 one-mark questions, 25 per subject.

  • Each part carries equal weight: Part B subjects such as computer knowledge and reasoning are as valuable as the language and maths papers.

  • Speed matters: Two hours for a 200-mark paper leaves little time per question, so timed practice is essential.

Older pages may still show the earlier 3-hour pattern, so follow the 2026 rule book.

How to Prepare for MP Patwari

Part A plan

Start with General Mathematics and General Hindi, which reward daily practice. Revise basic science from school-level books and practise English grammar and vocabulary in short daily sets.

Part B plan

Build Madhya Pradesh GK alongside national GK, since state history, geography and schemes are a natural focus. Computer knowledge and general management are short, scoring subjects if you revise definitions and basics regularly. Reasoning improves fastest with timed sets.

MP Patwari Cut-off Reference

MPESB sets a minimum qualifying mark of 40% of the total for Patwari, which is 80 out of 200. Selection depends on merit within your disability group and district, so the actual closing score can be well above that minimum. Cut-offs change every cycle with difficulty, vacancies and applicants, so treat any previous figure as a benchmark only.
