Rajasthan CET Graduate Level Eligibility 2026: Age, Degree

The Rajasthan CET Graduate Level eligibility rules are set by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) in Advertisement 09/2026 for the Common Eligibility Test (Graduate Level) 2026. You need a graduation degree or equivalent, and you must be 18 to 40 years old as on 1 January 2027, with relaxations for several categories.

CET eligibility is only the first gate. Each post covered by the CET, such as Patwari or Village Development Officer, applies its own qualification, age and experience rules when its main exam is advertised. This page covers the CET conditions, the full relaxation table, other conditions and the common reasons candidates are found ineligible.

Educational Qualification

Under Department of Personnel notifications of 23 May 2022 and 13 October 2022, the qualification for the CET (Graduate Level) is graduation or its equivalent. The degree should be from a recognised university or institution.

  • Final-year candidates: Students who are in, or have appeared in, the final year of graduation can apply for the CET.

  • Degree needed later: They must earn the qualification as required by the departmental rules of the post they apply for in the main exam.

  • Post-specific rules: Qualification, age and experience for each post follow its service rules and are stated separately in the main exam advertisement.

  • Check before applying: You are responsible for confirming that you meet the conditions of at least one CET post. Being allowed to take the CET does not confirm eligibility for a post.

Age Limit

You must have completed 18 years and must not have completed 40 years on 1 January 2027. If no recruitment was held in a year in which you were within the age limit, you are treated as eligible by age, but this benefit cannot exceed 3 years.

Age conditions for each post still follow its own service rules when the main exam is advertised, so the CET age limit is not the final word for every post.

Reservation and Category Rules

  • Rajasthan residents only: SC, ST, OBC, MBC and EWS benefits apply only to residents of Rajasthan. Reserved-category candidates from other states apply as General.

  • Creamy layer: Creamy layer OBC and MBC candidates of Rajasthan are treated as General.

  • Women: Women get 30 percent horizontal, category-wise reservation, with 8 percent for widows and 2 percent for divorced women within it.

  • Other horizontal reservation: Ex-servicemen get 12.5 percent and outstanding sportspersons 2 percent, while persons with benchmark disabilities of 40 percent or more get reservation under the Rajasthan rules.

  • Women from other states: A woman from another state who becomes a Rajasthan resident by marriage cannot claim SC, ST, OBC or MBC reservation, but can be treated as EWS with a Rajasthan EWS certificate.

  • Choose the right category: Category cannot be corrected after the edit window. Applying under the wrong category can lead to rejection.

Reservation is applied in recruitment to posts, which happens through the main exams. The percentages above come from the CET advertisement; check the main exam advertisement for post-wise reserved vacancies.

Other Conditions

  • Scheduled Area: Only local residents of Rajasthan's Scheduled Area can apply for Scheduled Area vacancies, and they must mark this clearly in the form.

  • Qualifying score: To appear in a main exam you need at least 40 percent in the CET. SC and ST candidates get a relaxation of up to 5 percent.

  • Score validity: Your CET score is valid for three years from the date of the result, under the Department of Personnel notification of 16 January 2025.

  • Attempts: There is no limit on attempts, and your best valid score before a main exam is used.

  • OTR blocking: If you skip any two recruitment exams of Rajasthan's recruitment agencies in one financial year, your OTR is blocked until you pay a penalty of Rs. 750 (Rs. 1,500 if it happens again).
