Rajasthan Police SI Syllabus 2025: Paper I and Paper II Guide
The Rajasthan Police SI syllabus is set by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) for the Sub Inspector/Platoon Commander Competitive Examination. For the 2025 cycle, RPSC published the scheme of examination and syllabus on 27 October 2025: Paper I covers General Hindi and Paper II covers General Knowledge and General Science, each worth 200 marks.
Unlike many exams, RPSC publishes a topic-wise list for both papers, so you can plan from the official document itself. This page turns that list into a working checklist, shows where to start, flags the one new topic added for 2025, and gives the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) scheme that follows the written exam.
Table of Contents

Both papers are objective, with 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer as stated in the official syllabus.
Key Changes to Know
New criminal laws added: the 2025 Paper II syllabus adds "Basic Knowledge of New Criminal Laws" under the Constitution and governance unit. It was not in the 2021 syllabus.
Rest of the syllabus unchanged: the other Paper II units and the Paper I Hindi list match the 2021 syllabus in substance.
Five-option OMR sheet: every question now has a fifth option for "not attempted", and leaving more than 10% of questions fully blank leads to disqualification.
Same PET events: the PET still scores the 100 metre race, long jump, and chin-ups for men or shot put for women.
Older pages may still show the 2021 syllabus without the criminal laws topic, so follow the official 2025 document.

Overlap Between the Written Exam and the Interview

Law and policing | New criminal laws, crimes against women and children | Suitability for the post and judgement | Link each legal topic to how a Sub Inspector would apply it |
Current affairs | State and national events | Questions on recent issues are common | Keep monthly notes and revise them before both stages |
Physical Efficiency Test Scheme
The PET carries 100 marks, and candidates need 50% to be considered for selection. The scoring below is from the official 2025 PET scheme.
Event | Men (full marks standard) | Women (full marks standard) | Maximum marks |
|---|---|---|---|
100 metre race | 14 seconds | 17 seconds | 40 |
Long jump | 15 feet and above | 10 feet and above | 30 |
Chin-ups (men) or shot put of 4 kg (women) | 7 heaves | 16 feet | 30 |
Lower marks are given for slower times and shorter distances, and ex-servicemen have separate standards. The interview has no published syllabus; it assesses personality, tact, behaviour, aptitude, judgement, leadership and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.
How to Cover the Syllabus
Weeks 1 to 8: build concepts in Hindi grammar and Rajasthan history, geography and polity. Start a daily current affairs habit of 30 to 40 minutes with monthly notes.
Weeks 3 to 10: add Indian history, the Constitution, economy, science, and the legal topics. Practise reasoning and numeracy for 20 minutes a day.
From week 6: take topic tests and 20-minute sectional tests for Hindi vocabulary, sentence correction and Rajasthan GK.
Final phase: full-length timed papers for both subjects, same-day analysis, and an error log for weak topics. Start PET training alongside, not after the result.
