RPSC Assistant Professor Cut Off: Subject-wise Marks and Trends
The RPSC Assistant Professor cut off is not one number. Because the Rajasthan Public Service Commission recruits subject by subject, it releases separate qualifying marks for each subject and category along with each provisional result. Those marks decide who is called for document verification and the interview. This page explains how the cut-off works, shares an indicative figure from the 2025-26 cycle and helps you set a realistic target.
How the cut-off works
There are two kinds of thresholds to keep apart.
Minimum qualifying marks: Reports of the 2025-26 recruitment describe at least 36% in each written paper and 40% in the written aggregate, with a 5% relaxation for SC and ST candidates. These are minimums, and meeting them does not guarantee a call for interview.
Subject-wise interview cut-off: Within each subject, the commission shortlists candidates by merit up to a limit based on vacancies. The marks of the last shortlisted candidate in each category become the cut-off for that subject.
In some subjects, results list a category as "ALL". Secondary sources interpret this as every candidate who met the minimum qualifying marks being shortlisted, usually because applicants were fewer than the posts. This reading is not confirmed on the commission's own page.
Indicative cut-off from the 2025-26 cycle
The commission has not published a combined cut-off table for the whole recruitment, so there is nothing official to quote across subjects. As an example, two independent websites reported the following marks for the Mathematics provisional result of 28 July 2026, out of 200 written marks.
Category (Mathematics) | Reported interview cut-off (out of 200) |
|---|---|
General (UR) | 106.85 |
SC | 102.52 |
ST | 87.12 |
These numbers are indicative and are drawn from third-party reports, not an official table. Other subjects differ widely, with some showing much lower marks. Read the result PDF for your subject on the official website. Candidates should also note that a higher category cut-off than the general one can occur in a small subject, because of how seats and merit lists work.
What affects the cut-off
Number of vacancies: More posts in a subject usually means a lower cut-off.
Number of applicants: Popular subjects see tougher competition.
Paper difficulty: A harder subject paper pulls the whole range of marks down.
Category and reservation: Each category has its own cut-off within a subject.
How to set your target
Cut-offs change every year, so treat last year's figures as a benchmark only and aim for a clear margin above them instead of a bare pass.
Find the cut-off of your subject in the latest result, not just the headline number for another subject.
Add a safety margin of at least 10 to 15 marks to your target.
Split your target across papers: subject papers carry 150 marks and Rajasthan GK carries 50.
Check your mock scores against the target every fortnight and adjust your plan.
