RRB ALP Study Notes 2026: What to Write and How to Revise

Subject-wise notes and a revision routine for CBT 1, CBT 2 and CBAT.

RRB ALP study notes are your own short record of the formulas, facts and mistakes you need for CBT 1, CBT 2 and CBAT. Good notes matter in this exam because the syllabus spans school science, engineering basics and trade theory, and you will revise it in stages over several months.

Under CEN 01/2026, General Awareness has been removed from CBT 1, so you no longer need current affairs notes for this exam. Your notes can focus on Mathematics, reasoning, science, Basic Science and Engineering and your trade.

How to Organise Your Notes

  • One formula sheet per subject: Keep Mathematics and Basic Science and Engineering formulas on two or three pages you can scan in ten minutes.

  • Diagrams over paragraphs: Engineering drawing, circuits and levers are faster to revise as labelled sketches.

  • An error log: After every mock, write down the question type you got wrong and the correct method. This becomes your most valuable revision file.

  • Separate trade notes: Part B needs only 35 percent, so keep trade notes short and focused on frequently asked chapters.

Revision Schedule

  1. Daily: Ten to fifteen minutes on the formula sheet and the last day's error log entries.

  2. Weekly: One full read of the notes for the subjects you studied that week.

  3. Before each stage: In the final week, revise only from your notes and error log, not from new books.
